Arrow- Well, well! In the past, Oliver, Tatsu, and Maseo fail to stop the virus. Or rather, the vial breaks. We don't see what happens. But we do get confirmation that their son is dead. Or did we know that already? I mean, one could assume that happened, but I can't remember them actually outright saying he's dead until now.
Anyways, Ollie makes the deal to become the new Ra's in order to save Thea's life in the Lazarus pit. Felicity comes with, and tells Ra's off, but he just tells her to go see Oliver one last time and get it out of her system, and they finally do it! But then Felicity drugs him, and she convinces Merlin to help them escape, Diggle carrying Ollie's unconscious body and Merlin dragging a still loopy but healed Thea along. Maseo ends up helping, thanks to a speech by Diggle earlier, but its not enough. They get cornered, but Ollie comes too just in time to get the assassins to stand down since he's the new boss. (or about to be boss) He sends his friends away, telling Digg he's like his brother, and tell Felicity she should find her happiness with someone who can give her the life she deserves, and knowing that she will is the only thing getting him through sacrificing his life to become the new head of the league.
After they're gone, Maseo admits he helped Oliver to Ra's, but Ra's is surprisingly merciful, all, he doesn't fault him for that since Maseo and Ollie were good friends, and Maseo couldn't ignore that bond. Besides, Ollie will need his help to become the new Ra's.
Supernatural- Ooh, I thought that was a clever twist. So, to translate the book, Rowena says Sam needs to find the codec, which was taken by the Men of Letters back in the day. Sam researches it, and the problem is, its stuck in a box made by the Magnus guy, which is protected by a powerful ward that makes people want to kill themselves.
So, Sam tries to get it, and when Dean follows him, he tells a half truth, saying he discovered the mysterious box made by Magnus, and its their duty to recover it lest it kill any innocents. They blunder though, and get infected. Dean sees visions of Benny, telling Dean that he secretly desires to go back to purgatory so he can kill baddies with no worry of the consequences, since its just a constant fight for survival there. But thanks to the mark, Dean is too strong to succumb. As for Sam, at first it seems like Rowena had followed them but broke the spell on Sam, but only had prepared one dis-enchantment. But as we see later, its actually another trick. It turns out Sam was still trying to be tricked into killing himself- he and "Rowena" were trying to figure out how to open the box and saw it need the blood of a man of letters to open it. So, Sam kept bleeding himself until he was about to die. Lucky for him, Dean had snapped out of it and stopped him, then used his own blood to finish opening the box.
Sam gets the book, but continues to lie to Dean all, "Oh, the box had a book! How interesting, I'll keep it safe in the library!" So he takes it to Rowena, and is at least smart enough to chain her down until she finishes figuring out how to get the mark off Dean.
The Americans- Argh! Is that the season finale? Is that where its ending? So, Philip's solution to the Martha sitch is to suicide the FBI IT guy to make it look like he did it. Unfortunately, we don't get to see if that worked yet. Elizabeth does rightly warn Phillip though that he better give Martha a heads up first, because if she hears the IT guy killed himself, of course she'll figure out Clark did it to save her, and the guilt would destroy her.
Oleg finally hears confirmation the defector chick is a big faker. Sort of. At a meeting, Arkady is all, "The bosses are all, no assassinating people off book!" So, he guesses its because of their threat against defector lady. He tells Stan, and heh, just like this weeks' Powers, turns out Stan was playing both sides. Stan records the convo, and immediately goes to Gaad about what he had been doing all, "It was all a ruse so I could turn Oleg in addition to trying to get back Nina!"
Needless to say, Gaad is pissed! They arrest defector lady, but he tells Stan that too bad, there's a CIA asset that got captured in Moscow last year, and they're more important. He also tells Stan not to expect to have his job for too long. BUT! One of the higher ups actually likes Stan's crazy cowboy ways, all, keep doing what you're doing, you get results, screw these bureaucrats! Heh, Stan tries to leverage this into getting Nina out, but the guy is all, you're the smart guy, you'll figure out some other way to get her. HA!
As for Elizabeth's mother, I guess the ruse was that she had to go on business in West Germany, and took Paige along. There's a scare where she thinks she's being followed, but they act like its nothing, it was just random paranoia. Maybe it is, maybe it will end up meaning something next season. So, the Soviets take her mother to see her and its a sad reunion, and afterward Paige is all, "I'll pray for Grandma!" Heh, I actually couldn't read Elizabeth's face after that, whether it was, "I'll let my daughter do this for once, at least she's trying to do something nice for my mother!" or if she was all, "This bitch, always bringing her Christian stuff into everything!"
When they get back, Paige doesn't think she can live this lie, because lying is a sin. Elizabeth thinks she manages to talk Paige down, but nope, unbeknown to Elizabeth and Phillip, she just called Pastor Tim and told him everything. That's bad! But I presume their phone is bugged, so maybe the KGB will hear the betrayal and the Pastor will meet an unfortunate accident, further alienating Paige.
Oh, and there's a couple of weird scenes where Phillip sees Stan's wife at one of the EST meetings, and she wants them to confide in each other, and he's all, he can't promise to "be totally truthful", since he's a spy. Well, he doesn't tell her the last part, just that he doesn't think he can tell her everything. Hey, at least he respects her enough to not lie. But of course, it could just be its a convenient excuse, because its kinda a weird request!
