Glee- Series finale! It feels like the end of an era, its definitely sad to see this show go. After last week's ep and given the first hour was a flashback and the final hour was a flash forward, its disappointing we didn't get more time with the new newbies. They were fun and I think there was more that could've been done with them. In any case, waiting for Fox to release the performances on youtube before I make my final gleecap.
Hart of Dixie- So AB has a dream where the town founder (I know their town has always been an eclectic mix where racism is non-existent even though they're in the deep south, but do they really expect us to believe their town was founded by a black dude? In Alabama?!) warns her of some ill portents- 5 Omens will occur before midnight the next night, signaling that life in Bluebell as she knows it will change.
Which for some reason when she tells Cricket, who in turn panics the populace, they read it as "the end of the world"! So the town acts their usual silly selves, but of course the world doesn't end, it just meant some big changes were underway. What big changes? George is moving away to Nashville!
So, George and Zoe go to NOLA for a show Meatball's doing. But, the owner wants to cut his set. George threatens legal action and cows the owner, allowing Meatball to still perform. Meatball's cousin, the supposed country superstar "Pamela Bailey", witnesses this, and is impressed, wanting to hire George on the spot. But, he just got with Annabeth and doesn't want to leave her. Or the town. The whole wanting to stay in town and not take risks and maintain the status quo would've been fine if the series didn't actually start with him coming back from NY after a few years in the big city. Like, that reasoning could fit with Wade, or Lemon, or any of the other characters, but George is the one character raised in Bluebell who has gotten out already and experienced life outside of town!
In any case, when they return to Bluebell, before midnight, Meatball accidentally lets slip about the offer, and so AB tells George he has to take it. They can make the long distance thing work. And so he announces he's leaving, and then the town is all, "Oh, I guess Bluebell will indeed never be the same!"
Meanwhile, Zoe and Wade have a tiff because Wade finds out Zoe is apparently against marriage. The road trip with George convinces Zoe to change her mind, while Wade also decides he's fine with whatever Zoe wants. And so Zoe and George plan a secret proposal to Wade, but they get called away on separate issues, leaving the "marry me" in candles left out at Lavon's.
So of course, when Lavon and Lemon meet back up at his place to talk about their relationship, Lavon starts talking about how much he loves Lemon and he wouldn't be averse to spending his life with her. Of course, she then sees the candles, and assumes he's proposing. She says yes, but he gets caught up in the moment and he really would want to marry her, so he lets her believe he actually did propose. So, Zoe's kinda pissed later that Lavon hijacked her proposal, because now she can't propose to Wade because it would be weird so soon after Lavon and Lemons' engagement.
