Broad City- Heh, saw some gifsets from this week's ep on my dash that identifed what Abbi and Ilana where yelling at the park at those soccer guys. I though Ilana was yelling like, "Wotta (something)" like some sort of weird complement like Key and Peele's "Nooice!" I didn't realize they were shouting, "Wanna Fooook?!"
12 Monkeys- Ah, interesting. So Cole did jump to an alternate reality. Apparently Cassandra died soon after he jumped back, causing them to not only never heard of her, but the virus comes out a year early in Chechnya as part of some Operation Troy. Also, Cole died before being taken in by Jones and becoming a test subject. So Ramsey ends up going back to the West VII camp, killing Deacon (not without losing an eye) and taking over, then taking over the compound.
Cole manages to convince Jones and Ramsey of his story of being from a different reality, and begs them to send him back. Ramsey is hesitant, because it will basically blow all their power to do so. But he trusts Cole, so they send him back. But not before head military guy (who is not a military guy in this alternate reality) gets pissed that they're using up all this power on what he feels is a fool's errand. He mortally wounds Jones, but Ramsey gets a hold of him and snaps his neck.
Jones sends him back earlier in time before he and Cassie went to the Night Room. Obviously, he can't interfere with that and cross his own timeline, so he can't stop them from going or even warn them lest he create a paradox. So, he seeks out Aaron's help, because Cole needs him to attempt the rescue since he can't risk seeing himself. He captures Aaron, who secretly calls 911 and basically thinks Cole is nuts as he tries to tell Aaron his story.
Its not until Cole name drops Operation Troy that Aaron starts to believe Cole. Well, not really believe him, but thinks Cole knowing some real stuff may mean he's not totally insane. And so they flee the cops Aaron called and head to the Night Room. As an aside, we see on TV a Snowden analog, who coincidentally is hiding out in Chechnya. And this Operation Troy was their plan to deal with that. Which again is why Aaron didn't totally dismiss Cole as a crazy person.
So, they arrive at the lab just in time. Cole sets up an ambush for when they all come out the door. But Aaron messes up and sets off a car alarm, starting a firefight allowing the 12 Monkeys to abscond with Cassie. Aaron accidentally shoots other Cole in the fracas- interestingly enough, not only does the scar appear, so do new memories- of Jones patching up his wound before sending him back.
Also, lucky for them, since his other self saw the van's license plate, he remembers it, and gives it to Aaron who tracks the van. Well, not real time track the van where it is, but find out its history. He mentions to Cole that it was once used as a flower delivery truck, and he remembers the Preacher guy had that weird thing about flowers. So they check it out- Cassie and the Monkeys aren't there, but soon enough a couple of guys wounded from earlier show up, and Cole gets the drop on them.
So, he and Aaron play good cop/bad cop until the guy gives up Cassie's location. And not a minute too soon, as some mysterious lady had drugged and hypnotized her, and they were wanting to show her some guy named "The Witness" who is dressed as a Physician from Medieval times, with the weird mask and everything. They rescue her, and Cole splinters back right as they escape, so Aaron now knows Cassie isn't nuts, that Cole could be a time traveler. He apologizes to Cassie for not believing her all these years.
In the future, everything is back to as how Cole remembered it. He tells the rest of the scientists all he learned, and they're going to look into this Operation Troy. Also, Jones and Cole have a convo about how this splintering thing is killing him, and he doesn't have too many jumps yet. He tries to ask Jones how many more times he can do this, she doesn't get into specifics, but apparently not a lot. He asks if its going to be enough, and all she can say is she hopes so.
