Feb. 14th, 2015 11:01 pmSaw Kingsman today with the usual suspects. I enjoyed it, pretty funny, some cool action sequences, as well as certain things. spcv('Nice!')
isabel79, it has Colin Firth and Jack Davenport as bad-ass British spy guys (spoiler alert, the latter is only there very briefly tho)
TV commentary:
12 Monkeys- Yeah, is it me, or is Jennifer and her whole crazy pants thing kinda hot? Interesting, is this going to be a closed loop? I can't remember if they actually destroyed the sample or not, or just killed the guys trying to retrieve the sample. But it seemed like they were implying the skeletal torso thing was one of Jones failed experiments. Like did she accidentally send back an infected person that ended up starting this plague? Also, those pictures Ramsey found of her previous test subjects, was one of them the Preacher guy?
But interesting, the 12 Monkeys have Cassie, Jennifer sees Cole jump, and Cole jumps back into a place where the base is taken over by refugees, and the VII symbol is on the wall? Now, did he change history, or did he just jump back earlier/later in time? Like either before the facility became their base, or after something happened that caused the one guy to take over?
Glee- Pretty good ep. So the ep starts with VA doing Bon Jovi's "You Give Love a Bad Name":
As I said earlier this week, I think this is VA's best number so far this season. Like they actually seemed into it as opposed to their going by the numbers approach during the invitational. Interspersed with this number is Will liking the perks that come with coaching VA, particularly the better paycheck, but he doesn't like that these kids are a bunch of self centered assholes who only care about winning.
Apparently, they egged Rachel and Blaine, so Will gets pretty mad, but he's kinda impotent and can't really do anything to discipline these little pricks since the boosters will only countermand him in the name of winning. He brings Unique back and they do a rendition of Same Love:
Heh, the rapping is kinda clunky, but again as I said earlier this week, I loved the ending. (Also, yes Unique was once part of VA, but wasn't she on a team that not only lost Nationals, she jumped ship to join the New Directions? So I would think they would hate her!) The VA punks could care less about LGBTQ folks, but Clint gets the idea to act overtly dickish to push ND into spending the week outraged and singing about it instead of practicing for the competition. They trash Coach Bieste's (who finished his transition surgery and is now Sheldon Bieste) car and write hateful words on it. Obviously, Schue and Sue are livid, but Bieste doesn't want them to make a big deal about it.
Schue suspends Clint, but again, he's right back on because the boosters want winners. He talks to Emma about it, who says she's fine with whatever he decides, as long as he's able to live with it. So, he goes to VA all, "You've changed my perspective, lets play a prank on ND!" He sneaks them into Mckinley in the guise of messing up ND's practice, but when they show up, we see Will actually had Unique and a 300 strong transgender choir singing "I Know Where I've Been" from Hairspray to Bieste:
Afterward, Will is fuck you guys, I quit! And Sue chases VA off with dogs after puncturing the tires on all their cars so they have to walk home. He has enough savings and Emma has her pamphlet of the month club going on that they have some time for Will to find a new job. So Kurt and Rachel ask him to be a special consultant.
In the other plot, Rachel's dads finally sell their house, despite her attempts to mess up the sale. Sam decides to get the gang to cheer her up with one last party at her house. They're all going to do duets, decided by a spinning wheel. Mercedes gets paired with Roderick, and they do "All About That Bass" by Meghan Trainor:
Kurt spins the wheel, but cheats to get paired with Blaine, and they do Betty Who's "Somebody Loves You":
Sam insists on singing with Rachel, and they do Cyndi Lauper classic "Time After Time":
During the party, Sam gives Rachel a pep talk all, home is what you make it and all that jazz, helping her deal with the loss of her childhood. Also, Blaine kisses Kurt. In the aftermath of that, he confesses to Karofsky, who said he knew it was only a matter of time, about how he figured he was just a rebound for Blaine. So they break up, and Blaine goes to confess his love to Kurt, only to see him with about to go on a date with Walter. So he keeps mum- so not only did he break up with Karofsky, he's not back with Kurt!
