TV commentary:
Eye Candy- Ha, I was wondering what was up with that lady with the annoying laugh. But then she started laughing while the flirtual killer was monolouging and all, "Oh, that's why she's annoying!" And sure enough, he cut her throat. Which, I get that its pitch dark, but I'm skeptical he could cut a throat and cut the tongue out and put it on the plate of another table that quickly.
Also, certified blind waiters? That's creepy. And the serial killer party, who the eff would cut off their finger for $50,000?! Ha, guess that one guy did that for nothing!
PLL- Wow, that is kinda messed up. So, Hanna can't get any financial aid because her father's rich, even though he's not really involved in her life. So, she goes crawling to him, but he's basically all, "Oh, I thought you were a moron, so I didn't make a college fund for you. I am giving your step sister, who is not my blood and have only known for a couple of years show-wise, a full ride to Dartmouth".
I mean, granted, he didn't know anything about Hanna's life, and that her getting into all these colleges was a possibility, but who's fault is that? He's basically always ducking out on her, and then he has the nerve to be all, "Oh, I didn't know!"
So, Hanna's going to try and win some beauty pageant for the money. Heh, I wonder if she'll realize its being run by one of Pastor Ted's parishioners, and Ashley is on the outs with him because she confessed to sleeping with Jason. Like even though its none of those church ladies business, they seem to have no problem letting it interfere with matters such as these. They frickin' dropped out of giving blood just because Ted and Ashley were going through a rough patch? Like talk shit about her behind her back, but holding back blood people need? Jeez!
Other side stuff, Emily has a cute time with Talia. Until she finds out she's married. Then she gets pissed. But Talia said its to her HS sweetheart, and they're not together in that way anymore, they just never bothered getting divorce.
Jonny invites Spencer to help him with a mural he's doing for Hollis. They have a fun time, and its all flirty. But, she finds out the next day it was vandalism, and he wasn't hired at all by them. He doesn't get why she's all freaked out, but then she tells him its because she was arrested for murder for once and can't afford run ins with the law. I'm skeptical he had heard all about the Ali and Mona stuff, but didn't know Spencer had been arrested in conjunction with what was going on. But he apologizes, and they're good. But looks like Spencer contacted Melissa to see if Wren could help get her into Oxford.
The main plot of the ep was the Liars being suspicious of Mike. They see him skulking around the blood drive, thinking he may have stolen their blood (well, Aria, Hanna, and Spencer's, Emily couldn't give blood because she was in Haiti). Aria doesn't want to believe, and its distracting her. So she cheats off Andrew on a test, which he catches, and instead of turning her in, he offers to tutor her. Actually, he may have strong armed her into tutoring, I wasn't sure about his phrasing when he was all, "have fun getting in trouble for cheating!" Like I didn't know if he was saying he would turn her in if she didn't allow him to tutor her, or if he thought she really didn't know her stuff and her path would eventually get her in trouble.
It was confusing, because I wasn't sure she actually needed tutoring, like she said, she was distracted over this stuff with her brother, easily answering Andrew's quizzing when he played keep away with her phone. But yeah, other suspicious behavior- him getting calls from Ali's prison from some guy named Hank, and Em spotting Mike withdrawing a lot of cash. He conveniently doesn't grab the receipt, which lets her see he has access to a secret account with several thousand dollars.
So, when he takes off with the car, Emily and Aria rope Andrew into following him (they want to borrow his car, but he drives a manual) and send him off when Spencer meets them (Hanna was busy talking to her dad). They see this "Hank" is actually Cyrus. And Mike hands him a thick envelope. They think its the money at first, and plan to follow Cyrus to see where he goes. But, they get a text from A with a pic of the vials of their blood, so they now think Mike gave Cyrus the blood. Which, they're both right there at the diner, when would either of them have time to take a pic of the vials and send it to them? In any case, the text distracts them long enough for them to lose Mike.
They spot Cyrus, who spots them, and menaces them from his bike. But Andrew chases him off with a baseball bat.
In the end tag, A is planting some of Hanna's blood on Mona's sweater.
