Vampire Diaries- Hmm, there was a throw away line that I hope I'm wrong about, because it would be kinda crazy. When Stefan was trying to snap Caroline out of her funk, already planning Liz's funeral and avoiding spending what little time she has with her mother, he talks about his mother being sick too when he was a kid. But then, his father sent her away, and she died. So, he never actually saw her die. Annie Wersching has been cast as some mysterious character, and I have a sneaking suspicion she's Damon and Stefan's mom. Like I've watched this show long enough to think it was very suspicious that they were specific about the fact that his father sent her away. They could've just kept it as, Stefan kept avoiding her, and then one day, she died before he had a chance to have closure with her. Maybe I'm wrong.
Intriguing things I didn't see coming. I think last week I was wondering if one dies of the super cancer, don't they just come back as a vampire? I mean, at least Liz would still be "alive". But the guy Caroline experimented on, he still had cancer as a vamp, and was in so much pain. So, they can't solve this issue by making Liz a vamp. Which, I'm a little skeptical, in all the centuries, no one with cancer accidentally got vamped to discover this little issue? Then again, I guess its only in the past half century we've started to really understand cancer, or have info so easily spreadable. Some random could've gotten vamped, and like the guy in this ep was in so much pain wanted to die. And thus would kill themselves early enough that people wouldn't learn about that little horrible side effect of cancer patients getting vamped.
Although, technically, the issue with the cancer is that those cells get vamped too. And the problem with Liz's cancer is its too far gone that any efforts to try and kill off those cells would probably kill Liz too. But, couldn't they basically go hardcore on the chemo/radiation? Like even if it ravaged Liz, if it killed the cells and she survived, couldn't they heal her with vamp blood after that? But I guess that's risky. Because they would basically put her through a lot of pain and it could be for naught.
Owel, to save her Damon comes up with an insane plan that he gets from Tyler- the latter was going to release Kai to make the merge come sooner rather than later since the Twins lied about when their b-day is so Tyler wouldn't worry. Their b-day is that night. Damon, who has always shown no qualms about sacrificing people for the people he does care about, runs with that, because Kai is a magic siphon, and thus can neutralize the vamp blood in Liz. So, he knocks out Tyler with the drugs they were using to keep Kai down, calls the Gemini patriarch (who's in town to see the twins and see them merge) to make the twins merge, since he's letting Kai loose and thus can't let him merge with Jo.
Kai sucks the magic out of the blood in Liz. And it works! But then she has a heart attack. So while Delena is distracted by that, Kai gets away and goes after Josette to force the merge. Meanwhile, knowing that that merge is coming, their dad tries to force Luke and Liv to merge. Tyler stops it, and Luke runs off to merge with Kai instead.
Anyways, Liz lives, shocked back to life by a near death dream about Caroline all vamped up- I guess she thinks her daughter still needs her and is pressing on for her? However, Luke loses!! Dang, for a second there, I thought he won. But nope, he opens his eyes, and dies. And just to press home the point before we see Kai get up, their dad says he can't feel Luke anymore and they have to flee from Kai. Liv chooses to stay with Tyler, crying in his arms over Luke's death.
And I guess it should've been obvious they wouldn't have killed Kai since everyone thinks he's totes cute or whatever- like it doesn't matter that people like him or Damon or Klaus are psychotic killers, they're good looking, so its okay.
I'm curious what everyone's reaction will be in the aftermath of all this- I mean, the MF crew prolly won't be too pissed at Damon, because even though he let Kai loose, it saved Liz. And you know them, they don't care about anyone else about themselves, and the Parkers aren't wholly in their little club yet, so its okay to sacrifice them for people they do care about. Like even Alaric and Tyler, while their gfs may be upset about the death of their brother, Liv and Jo are still alive. And again, all these characters can be pretty selfish, so better Luke than their girls.
