The Fosters- Oh, ha, that totally got me! So, turns out the ambulance at the house was for Robert Quinn, who seemingly had a heart attack (but it was really just a panic attack), and Sophia is totally fine. Well, the ep starts with her seemingly trying to drown herself in the tub, but I guess she was just taking a bath and being weird?
Anyways, impulsive Stef confronts the Quinns over the whole mess, and they get pissed and say they'll fight for Callie in court. So each side gives their case- yes, Robert did sign the papers that Sophia destroyed, but he changed his mind. He's Callie's bio dad, but the Fosters have been Callie's family for the last couple of years, and she wants to be with them. So, the judge rules they take the whole 180 days of the abandonment clause to figure things out- Callie will stay with the Fosters, but must see Robert 1 day a week to get to know him. She agrees, but only him. She refuses to see Sophia.
So, Sophia confronts Callie at her work later, demanding to be forgiven, or else she'll kill herself. Callie thinks she's just being dramatic, but Sophia totally walks into traffic. She tells the cops that they had gotten into a fight, and she was so emotional she wasn't paying attention. Callie doesn't call her out on it then, but after the cops leave, she reveals to the Quinns that their precious daughter is a suicidal nutcase. Sophia admits as much, and her parents seek to get her help. This does bring Callie and her dad closer, as she puts a reassuring hand on Robert's shoulder, since he's kinda reeling from his daughter being so unhappy.
Meanwhile, Brandon wants to tour with the band, even forgoing some internship he was offered for it. Callie is all, classical music is your passion, not playing dive bars. It is of course a euphemism for her and Lou, with Callie being classical music and Lou being the band, since Callie found out Brandon and Lou are a thing. Brandon basically tells Callie he's quitting her because she only comes to him when she's in trouble or her life is falling apart, and he just doesn't trust her or something.
Lena ends up having to take her job back, since Stef got all mad at her for being so hasty and they got a mortgage to pay. Since she found out from Jude that something did happen at the camping trip, part of her coming back involves finding out from Jude and Connor if something inappropriate happened. So they sit them down in the principal's office with Connor's father, and Jude claims some girls snuck into their tent to play games, and then they made out with them. Which, is that what really happened, given Jude's preferences? Obviously he lied to protect Connor. But Connor's not too happy that Jude said anything happened in the first place to his mom.
As for the twins, Kaitlyn's totally effing with Mariana, changing her solo at the last minute to sabotage her and then trying to cut it all together because its too weak. Tia knows she did it on purpose and quits the squad, hoping to get Kaitlyn to change her mind about Mariana's solo since Tia's the best dancer. But Kaitlyn won't cave, and Tia is kinda upset when Mariana doesn't quit as well. But, it was all part of Mariana's master plan- the rules say only one person on a team has to qualify to make it to the competition. And, since she was on the team that qualified, she says she can quit the team and start her own team with Tia.
Which, I'm not sure it should work out like that- I mean, she qualified with the school's team, like presumably there's only so many spots in the competition, just because she was a qualified competitor, I'm not sure anyone on a team who can qualify can just make a new team to enter in. Like, if everyone did that, wouldn't it get out of hand?
Jesus misses the competition, because he goes to see Ana at AA. Well, he gets there just in time to overhear Ana tell the group she's preggers. He's so shocked he leaves, and of course doesn't inform the fam of this development. But 1) since he entered from the front of the room, and was standing by the wall, obviously listening to his mom's speech, shouldn't some people in the group be all, "WTF? Who's this kid who just walked in, totally eavesdropped on a speech, and just left!" Like isn't the whole thing supposed to be anonymous, and thus, they'd be uncomfortable with someone just listening in like that? I mean, yes, they're expected to talk to strangers in a group setting, but at least the strangers are there in the meeting too, so everyone's at least on the same boat. Not so for some random kid listening by the door!
2) Heh, who's the dad? Mike? Or the guy Mike shot? I mean, I guess its almost been a year since that guy died, so even if he had just knocked Ana up the day Mike killed him, she should have been showing and perhaps even popped the baby by now.
