The Leftovers- Interesting. So we get more insight into Kevin and have more confirmation of him blacking out and some other him taking over. This other him who's apparently friends with dog killer Dean (who Patti says is a ghost, because they can't find anything on him, and the GR are apparently good at that), who's been going to a cabin in the woods, leaving his missing shirts and also beating up Patti and kidnapping her. And possibly effing Aimee.
I mean, Jill and the twins assume they are, with Jill even outright asking her friend if she effed her dad. Aimee says she did, but she was most likely being sarcastic. In any case, even if they haven't effed, there seems to be something going on between Aimee and other Kevin.
So yeah, Patti is all, now that he's beaten her and kidnapped her, he had better finish the job. Or else she's going to totally screw him over, he'll lose his job and his daughter. Which, I'm not so sure about that, given how hated the GR is. The feds hinted they were willing to storm in and burn them to the ground a few eps ago, and it was his own people who called them, so I can see it being swept under the rug.
But, he won't do it, even telling Patti, she's not going to tell, because he will. Losing everything is better than continuing to listen to her maddening words. So he cuts her free, and she proceeds to cut her own throat. Also, at some point during their talk, she more or less admits the GR stoned Kathy Geiss themselves, and she was a willing participant in her own death.
Speaking of the GR, things are getting dangerous. Meg goes crazy on Jamison when he's harassing her the same way the GR harass other people. She even advocates violent retribution when people assault them. Also, they have something creepy planned, which I assume is them using the pictures they stole to buy a whole bunch of real dolls that look like the people that were lost.
And with Patti missing, it looks like Laurie's the leader. And Jill shows up on her doorstep, upset about her fight with Aimee and also finding Nora's gun. At dinner the previous day, she told her dad about the gun she carried in her purse, which she said she didn't have anymore because she got better. So, Jill and the twins break into the house, because she's determined to find the gun. Eventually, she does, and is very upset, because she thinks that means if Nora didn't really get rid of the gun, then she's not really over it, and then makes the leap that that means one can never get over it. Which, I don't think just because Nora still has the gun in her house it means that. Like she said, she doesn't carry it around in her purse anymore because she doesn't need it... for that purpose.
I mean, obviously she doesn't know Nora was paying prostitutes to shoot her, but whatever, Nora said she used to need the gun because of how she felt, and now she doesn't feel that way anymore, so she doesn't carry it around anymore. But its still a gun, its a few hundred dollars, so its not like she's just throw it in the trash. She could sell it, but who knows, its better to have a gun somewhere and not need it, than need one and not have it. I don't think it necessarily should mean Nora is lying and not over the pain.
