TV commentary:

The Americans- Okay, the stuff with Paige was actually kinda hilarious. But yeah, I was wrong, bus girl isn't her protection, she's just one of them Christian girls wanting to recruit Paige into her youth group. But yeah, the part where Paige is hiding the bible and her parents totally flip out on her like she's doing drugs or something. I mean, the Ruskies were "godless heathens" (heh, I remember praying the rosary with the fam and that one line praying for the conversion of Russia) at the time, so I can get why they're displeased at this development. Which is kinda weird, because in America, honestly, it seems like atheists are viewed with a lot of disdain. Like I would think in suburbia, if the neighbors asked their religious affiliation, and they were all, "We're atheist!", the neighbors would find them very weird. I would think they would pretend to be agnostic or non-practicing Christians.

I mean, there's nothing in the convo with Paige where they outright say they're atheist (or rather "the family" is atheist), but like I said, its pretty weird how they freaked out on her about the church thing. Like acting its for people from broken homes? And then being all weirded out by her praying at the dinner table. But yeah, later, when they're in spy mode, Elizabeth and Philip talking about it like she's fallen in with a bad crowd and thought they raised her better. It just kinda hysterical.

But yeah, I was confused, is Phillip picking fights with wife #2 to get out of the marriage, because the talk with Stan made him feel like he's cheating on his "real" wife, or was he just doing that to get out of there that particular morning, and that's the status quo? But oops, she's applying for a new position and it needs her husband's name. So she's trying to reach "Clark" to discuss it, because she's not going to perjure herself for him, particularly if they're in a fight. So that's sure to complicate Phillip's life.

I was kinda confused by Elizabeth's mission. But first, ha, she prolly feels crappy now- she thinks Claudia is acting all squirrely, and doesn't trust her, but its because she was so devastated by the loss of the other spies and she doesn't want to lose another, even Elizabeth.

But yeah, the role she was playing for the nerdy guy, I wasn't sure if it was all acting- like her freaking out in the motel room was just establishing the sob story so she could try and have him get the files, or if she actually felt bad manipulating him like that. Because she was pretty short with Phillip later when he asked how the mission was going. Heh, I do feel sad for the guy, he thinks she's this sweet, innocent girl who needs him to be her hero. And he chickens out. But then she gives him a handy. Now, is she going to try and continue flirting with this guy, trying to get to that other guy through him, or is she just going to blow him off later (not that way!) and have him think she left him because he failed her?
