TV commentary:

The Fosters- This ep had a nice mix of sweetness and drama. The Callie/Jude b-day stuff was nice, glad the tension between them seems to have melted away. And aw, Callie told the Fosters about Jude's secret birthday, because they don't have to keep this secret thing between them anymore, because they have a family! Plus it was something light to distract from the troubling stuff of the ep.

Like the Mike stuff. First, he has a gf played by Marla Sokoloff. spcv('Nice!') I've always liked her so nice to see her still in stuff. But yeah, is it me, or was she a little too touchy with Brandon (who moved in with Mike after Callie moved back in)? Stef does a deposition, where she reveals the truth, she was conscious. She got shot, the guy dropped the gun and the gun misfired, but did not have his hands up. Mike came in shooting, as per his training, so she doesn't think he's at fault. But, given she lied the first time, her job is at risk.

Luckily(?) for her, Brandon goes ultra-creepy on Anna. First he's all, "Oh, you couldn't have been in the house, because that means you left Stef there dying while you got money from Jesus, and you'd never do anything that they would NEVER EVER forgive!" and then he follows up with the whole, "here's $1000!" when Anna says she's getting pressure and is woried they'll cut off her food stamps. So, she recanted, and everything is fine. Though I'm sure this will blow up in their faces later.

But, the jig is up with the piano teacher. Sort of. Brandon told Mike he needs a break from piano, but unfortunately his dad ends up leaving a VM with the guy all, "My son wants to take a break, and I don't think that's so wise, call me back!" So the guy calls Brandon telling him to clear this up with his dad. So Brandon needs to tell his dad he canceled his lessons, but unfortunately no longer has the money his dad gave him for the lessons, having used it to bribe Anna.

So, he's going into business with some fake-ID selling kid to sell fake IDs, which is prolly big trouble. The guy is all, "Your mom is vice principal, so you can get keys that give us access to the id making machine at school!" Brandon is worried about it being a felony, and he's all, "Only if we get caught!" Its like, he knows one of Brandon's moms is the VP, but doesn't he realize that Brandon's other mom and dad are friggin cops?!

Anyways, Brandon and his foster sisters separately end up at the big cast party for the play. Heh, Callie apologizes for crashing Mariana and Zach's thing, and Zach's all, "its cool!" I mean, the fact that he asked Mariana to go to the movies and she was all, "Eh, I hate parties anyways!" and agreed, but then changed her mind when Chase asked her, there wasn't anything for her to really crash. And then just to twist the knife, when Zach tries to confess his love, Chase is all, "Am I interrupting anything?" Mariana is, "Oh nothing!" and asks Zach if they can talk later.

And yep, looks like Chase is totally skeezy. After Talya effs things up all over the place whilst drunk, one of the things she does is tell Mariana to give Chase her panties as a method of flirting (which ick, apparently she did with Brandon!). So Mariana does (what the frick! How could she think that's a good idea) and they go upstairs, and he's ready to go, and she's all, "Oh, I wasn't inviting you for sex!" So he's all pissed because its obvious that's all he ever wanted. Thankfully, nothing happens. And wow, he even ends up asking for a handy if they're not going to do it. Classy.

But yeah, with Brandon being an idiot, and Talya being drunk, that definitely leads to more drama. She basically calls Brandon a love sick puppy and is all, Callie isn't into him, doesn't he get it, she ran away with Wyatt (which is what the school thinks happened). So he's all pissed wanting to prove what he had with Callie is real, so he blurts out about the wedding, and how they're not together because she needs a family more than she needs a boyfriend. Which again, I'm sure that bit won't blow up later. I mean, there's already a lit bit of it, when Talya confronts Callie at the party, calling her a two-faced whore bf-stealer. Which, she didn't outright say anything was going on between Callie and Brandon, but given people know Brandon is Talya's ex, they can put two and two together.

Anyways, its sad that there are prolly people out there all gaga fro Brallie and all, "Why can't they be together?" Because he's kinda a jerk? I mean, he says he told Talya because he "can't stand that people think she was with Wyatt when she was really with him?!" So he's saying, he'd rather cause all this drama for her because he didn't want people to think he was less of a man than Wyatt?!

Oh, and one last thing, I'm amused that while Jesus was not in this episode, they felt the need to make an excuse why he wasn't in every albeit important scene he should be in, because it just made it weird and more obvious he wasn't around.
