Dec. 16th, 2013 12:46 pmIs it sad that I have nothing of consequence going on in my life that all I post about is TV and movies and video games? Nothing new and exciting going on, but at the same time nothing awful. Well, I did have an uncle pass last week. Or technically first cousin once removed, but I always referred to him as an uncle. Couldn't make it to the funeral though, which was in Chicago. I hear it was like way freezing there (I heard it was -9F? Yikes!), and then there would've been all those weather delays had I gone.
isabel79 tweeted me the wake was at the same place where my grand uncle's wake was back in 1990, where I accidentally cursed in front of a priest because the bottle of soda I was opening in the break room fizzed up and soda was spilling all over the table.
ME blather- So, like I said last time, only have various "complete 200 waves as X character" challenges left to do. Just finished all the non-Volus outsiders ones (i.e., the Drell and Project Phoenix guys). But like I said, eff the volus, I ain't playing one of them. Under Blood Pack, I have the Krogan Shaman and Sentinel, the Batarian Slasher, and the Vorcha Hunter. Those should be easy enough though. Under Commando, I have the Asari Adept, Vanguard, and Infiltrator, which again, are easy enough, but also the Turian saboteur, which actually will be kinda a pain solo. Under machine, did all the Geth, just have the QFI and the Quarian Marksman left. Those both have sabotage, which can be useful, though it doesn't seem to work nearly as well as it does single player. Plus, the cooldown on it kinda prevents one from using other powers often. Its not as bad for the QFI, since I could just ignore sabotage and play her as a straight infiltrator.
But the marksman, all his powers are cooldown and don't mesh together well, and he has nothing to cause any tech explosions by himself. Sabotage is a primer, not a detonator. (and even worse, it only primes through the backfire effect, so it won't work on synthetics) The turian saboteur has a similar issue, though at least he has homing grenades and a sentry turret in addition to sabotage. And technically, he could possibly set off a tech burst with sabotage/homing grenade.
I guess the other problem is I've been picking Geth as the enemy for these characters. I figure, hey, with sabotage, I could just make them fight each other! For one thing, it seems to take forever to get them to .kill each other. Which can be a pain because I see a group of Geth I hit them with sabotage, its like, okay, now the one I hacked is in the way of me trying to hit the other geth. So I'm stuck waiting and trusting that he'll actually do something to them. Perhaps I should just pick Cerberus as the faction and save sabotage for the turrets and Atlases.
