The Mentalist- So this isn't a show I watch regularly, but since they promised a conclusion to the Red John saga, I caught the last couple of eps. I mean, they seemed to have definitely wrapped up that arc, its just weird that its not the end of the show. That was his nemesis, now what? There were things I thought were clever, though if Jane and Red John are supposed to be all smart, I can't believe they fell for those tricks.

First off, turns out Bertram isn't Red John, its Mcallister. But yeah, so when Jane offers to one final meet with Bertram, Bertam says meet me at X, which Jane shoots down. So Jane suggests another place, which Bertram refuses. So after much discussion, they finally decide to meet at the cemetery where Jane's family is buried. Like first off Bertam (well, and Red John and his Blake association cronies) don't find that suspicious? "Oh, we don't like these two random places? Let's go to a place that has huge significance fo Jane!" It was a misdirect by Jane sure, making it seem like the meeting place was off the cuff so the bad guys would have no idea Jane would have done anything to it, particularly since the team was arrested by the Feebs and he's alone. But the bad guys still got there first! Never assume the meeting place is truly neutral just because you all seemed to pick it spur of the moment. It could be theater, and the first few places they mentioned they never intended those to be legit meet spots, and they purposely picked ones you would shoot down. That was, after the give and take, it just seems like you guys came to a true compromise. So if you're there early, why not search for traps?!

Using Lisbon's gun and having the henchman find it when he frisked Jane and stopping there because "Oh, I found your gun, that must be your only weapon, so I'll stop searching there!", what if he had another gun? Sure, he actually had a pigeon, which is even more ridiculous, because you're telling me he managed to keep the pigeon there quiet the whole time?! Especially when he was running about.

Although Jane was also being stupid. So he's "savoring" the moment when he's about to shoot Mcallister/Red John, and some innocent looking lady shows up all, "OMG, what are you doing?!" And then he tries to shoe her off, and she just keeps walking towards him talking calmly? He was actually surprised she was another cronie?! Like if she really was an innocent, she wouldn't be walking toward him and talking when he has a gun and is standing over a shot man. A real innocent would be all shocked. I like that a few minutes later when Mcallister escape, he bumped into a lady who screamed and was all freaked out, which is how peole would react to that. Someone who's supposed to be good at reading people like Jane should have been suspicious of that one lady from the start, particularly when she was making her way closer, despite the gun in his hand.
