TV commentary:

Family Guy- Woah, I can't believe that happened, they killed off Brian? I mean, I was thinking they'd fix things in another ep, but according to the writers, he's dead. I suppose they could be just trolling, but it'll be interesting if that's the new status quo. They did say they wanted to shake things up and kill someone off, either one of the kids or Brian, but they figured that it was too macabre to kill one of the kids than the family dog.

Walking Dead- Another Governor ep. Surprise, surpise, he ends up taking over this new group. But I guess they needed him to have people again to lead to the confrontation in the prison.

But yeah, being a comic reader, its weird to me that they're trying to make him sympathetic. I mean, I guess this Governor is a little different than the comic version. He's still crazy, but he's not a rapist/child-molestor. But still, he was a straight up antagonist and villain in the comic, why does the show feel the need to show us these different sides of him? Why can't he just be a bad guy. Yes, its interesting to see layers sometimes, but sometimes its fine to just let the bad guy be irredeemably evil.

He kills Martinez, but then when he sees Victor from Dollhouse is the heir apparent and seems weak, he actually tries to flee with his women lest he be forced to turn into his old self and take the reign of power to protect those he cares about. Which at the very least, I thought that was pretty interesting- that he didn't just take Lilly, Tara, and Megan, that he actually brought Alisha along since she and Tara were in lesbians with each other. Tara and Alisha must have gotten real close if she was willing to suddenly leave the camp no explanation because the boyfriend of her girlfriend's sister said so.

I guess the other sucky thing about giving faces as it were to the Governor's people is that I'll feel sad to see some of them die when they attack the prison. Like I can't cheer the main characters to kill a bunch of people who were just under the Governor's sway. Although it'll be kinda interesting how he gets them to attack the prison this time. At least the first time around, he could rally Woodbury by saying the prison people killed their friends and family. Unless he fakes an attack from the prison, these people will have to make the conscious decision to kill others to survive.

Degrassi- What the frick, does any couple ever get to live happily ever after on this show? So last time, we found out Eli cheated on Claire, and now this ep Bianca has outgrown Drew? Look, I understand long distance relationships after high school are very likely to fail, but they don't have to have everyone on this show break up when the other goes to college. Can't one of them at least work out?

And also, I understand Bianca finding herself in college and feeling that Drew is no longer right for her. But her bringing up, "Oh, I told these new friends of mine that I was engaged, and I thought I was crazy, so we're breaking up!" Yes, its sorta crazy, and I'm in no way a proponent of getting married so young, but what the shit? She and Drew already went through the whole "Is this crazy and stupid?" thing with their friends and family, and after talking it out, they were all, "We're still doing this!" Then all of a sudden she spends a few months at university, and some new friends she's only known for a few months convince her she's crazy and should totally break it off. Like I think if they wanted to break them up, they could've done it a little better.

Also, heh, way to pour on the guilt to get Bianca to come by invoking Adam. "My mom already lost a son, don't let her lose a daughter!" Which is another thing, she loved that family, like its one thing to not think Drew is right for her anymore, but I'm curious if she considered the effect it would have on Auda. Actually, I'm kinds curious what his mom's take is on it- on the one hand, when she was against them marrying last season, they pulled that BS where all of a sudden Bianca wasn't good enough for Drew, when she was the one who believed in her, was like a second mother to her. On the other, she's hugely protective, so I would think she's be incredibly pissed at some girl breaking her son's heart like that.

And what the shit, Drew and Claire end up kissing? And heh, she immediately runs away, and Eli begs Claire to take him back, so she does, without saying she just kissed Drew. But seeing them happy does inspire Drew to accept Bianca's breakup because he wants her to be happy. Also, I know they eventually did have Bianca apologize to Adam, but I will say that that's the initial issue I had with them getting together in the first place. Like Drew reminisces, "I remember the first time I saw you, I thought, I better stay away, that girl is trouble!" Acting like she was this hot bad girl (well, she is) that he would be ill advised to get with since she'd prolly get him into trouble, as opposed to "Fuck that bitch, she threatened to kill my brother because he's trans, and her friends tried to beat him up in the bathroom!"

Its like, why did you bother with this, show, redeeming herself with this family, only to have her go to college for a couple of months and be all, "Oh, I'm over it!"

Finally, the Tristian-Maya-Zoe stuff. I can understand Tristan not want to be caught in the middle and for them to work it out so he can hang out with both of them, but its not like Zoe did was some small thing. It was total cyberbullying! It even got guys to act rape-y towards Maya because apparently she was a "slut". So it was kinda effed up that he was all, "Can't you just get over it?"
