Tomorrow People- Hey, some backstory and some plot movement! So we find out Cara used to be deaf/mute, and when her powers first developed, she used them to accidentally kill some guy who tried to rape her after some school dance. (EDIT: I'm slow, I just realized one of two things- either 1) the Tomorrow People CAN kill people if its accidental or 2) she didn't actually kill the guy, but someone human finished him off while she passed out) She escapes custody, but when she shows up at her family's door, her dad's all, "Do you know who's son you killed? They're gonna railroad you!" So he sends her away, and you think, "Aw, he's trying to protect his daughter!" But, since she can read minds, he's all, "Well, good riddance anyways, she was gonna be nothing but trouble!" Okay, he specifically thinks, "We're better off without her!" which is I think the same sentiment.
But also, Astrid spots Stephen teleporting, and now she's suspicious. On the one hand, I don't know why he doesn't tell her. I think he can trust her, and his life is already strained enough, she and his family are always on his case, I would think being able to tell one of them would relieve that pressure. Like I still don't see why he doesn't get his uncle's help with his family. Instead of hiding the whole job thing, why can't he get Jedekiah to be all, "Let me get your son a job, the structure may help!" and fake up a doctor who's all, "Oh, Stephen doesn't need pills!" That way he doesn't have everyone on his effin case about taking his meds. Because I would think he would be a more effective asset if the guy didn't have deal with mundane crap like this.
But I digress, on the other hand, Astrid is all, "You're just gonna lie to my face!" when he tried telling her this stuff in the pilot, and she was all, "You're an effin' liar, mental! Take your pills or we can't be friends anymore!" So I can see him not thinking she'll handle this all well. I dunno, if I were him, part of me would want to show I have powers to throw it in her face. All, "Oh, you thought I was some nutter and used emotional blackmail to try and drug me up! Told you so!"
