TV commentary:

Dexter- spcv('Nice!') So it turns out Nikki thought Masuka was trying to just blow her off with the 5K, but he assures her that's not the case. But she refuses the money, saying she has a job. Which he finds out is as a waitress at a topless sportsbar. He is totally aghast, but she is surprisingly cool with just prancing around topless in front of her dad. Anyways, she says she's just doing it until something better comes along, so Vince resolves to get her hired as a part time helper at the department for them, making it seem like it was Dexter's idea. Because their last assistants worked out so well, what with speed girl from Heroes (oh wait, ha, she was also from FNL!) stealing and selling evidence, and that one guy Jamie had been going out with who Dexter got into that feud with.

However, when he offers her the job, she says makes way more at the bar, so he says he doesn't want her to become a pole dancer, leading her to exclaim, "I'm not going to be a stripper, dad!" Which totally weirds him out that he's having such a convo, with her calling him dad.

Heh, Zack is an eager beaver because the urges are so strong. Unfortunately, Dexter's advice of "waiting" and look for the right time to kill and channeling your urges (the other bit of advice is to get a day job, because with Zack being some creepy rich boy living with his mom, as Dex said he might as well be holding a sign! HA!) isn't flying too well. It doesn't help that Dexter had to blow off Zack twice because of Hannah stuff. And Haley from OTH pays the price. Well, we're made to think so. I mean, he was right there, and she was bludgeoned to death just like the chick Zack killed. But who knows it could be a twist, and its not actually him, its that guy she started seeing.

Anyways, speaking of Hannah, after the end of last week, she just dumps Dex off in the middle of nowhere but doesn't harm him or Deb. Deb is freaking, mainly because Dex is less scared and more acting like a schoolboy with a crush. Ha, it doesn't help when Harrison's ears perk up at the mention of Hannah's name, excited that she may be back. So Deb's kinda annoyed they're both in the Hannah Mckay admiration club, she ends up revealing the whole story to Vogel, who warns her be careful, since it seems she may be thinking of taking matters into her own hand, she has to be prepared for the consequences.

But yeah, Hannah's back because she married this new guy because he's rich enough to allow her to escape the law, but he's possessive and controlling and "she might as well be in prison". Or so she claims, though he does send thugs after Dexter thinking something's going on between them. She also says he has the means to look into Dexter and expose him. So after giving these reasons why Dexter should get rid of him and saying that's what she was wanting him to do, she changed her mind? Bullshit! Then why give a serial killer reasons to kill him? When Dex asks why didn't she do it herself, she says his family was sure she was a gold digger, so she'd be like the first suspect if he suddenly dropped dead. And then the police would figure out who she was the second they showed up.

Which, how could Dex do it in a way that doesn't bring scrutiny on her? Its like even if she didn't do it, the guy would be missing, and I would think the family would still be way suspicious of her! But yeah, she claims she changed her mind because when she saw Dex after she drugged him, she realized she still loved him and now doesn't want him to risk himself by going after the guy. Of course, can you really trust a manipulative sociopath? But Dex admits he's still in love with her.

(And wait, when the husband confronts him, he immediately texts her, but the name on his screen says "Hannah Mckay". So even though she's a fugitive on the run, he puts her new number in his cellphone with her actual name?! That's kinda hilarious. I mean, not that anyone would be checking his phone at this point, but its still hilariously weird to me. "Oh, here's my ex who's a murderous killer and just drugged me and my step sister, I'll just put her back in my phone in case I need to contact her".)

After sending the aforementioned thugs to beat up Dex, Dex worries for Hannah's safety. And indeed who should be. For her part, she does seem worried about what he might do to Dex and begs him not to hurt Dex. There's no audience to play for during that convo, so I suppose she was serious about still loving Dex. Anyways, he ends up telling Hannah they're running away forever and she'll never leave the boat then proceeds to try and rape her.

We cut to Dex sneaking on the boat and finding Hannah over her husband's bloody body. Which, given the way things looked before the cut away, I think it was legit self defense, not some sort of manipulative trick. So he helps her get rid of the body (which Deb sees them coming back from the body dump) and she'll tell the crew he went to NY, which should buy her enough time to flee. Dex doesn't want her to leave without saying goodbye, but for now he's busy having to go investigate Cassie's death.

Other stuff, Deb's boss acts like the typical creepy "Oh I've been so nice to you, how dare you not like me, bitch" guy, Deb tries to throw him off by claiming she's a mess and he wouldn't want to get involved with someone like her. And Zack gets his lawyer and Matthews to put the squeeze on Batista to get him to call Quinn off his case. Which he does. Heh, earlier in the ep, Jamie was wanting to move in with Quinn, and he was being all commitment-phobic. But after missing out on the promotion, and now being forced off the case, he's kinda pissed at Batista and decides to have Jamie move in with him just to spite her brother.

And it seems like the Deb/Dex thing is starting to rear its head back in full force? First there was the comment when she tells Dex, "Trust me, I know what its like to fall in love with the wrong person!" when she's trying to warn him off Hannah. And then when she ends up in a convo with Cassie after slipping a tracker on his car, Cassie reveals she is actually still into Dex. That, and that Jamie thinks Dex is still hung up on Hannah. Deb says Dex is prolly not the guy for her and she would stick with the current, reliable guy. Now is she worried for Cassie's safety, or is she jealous?

Also, her description of the new beau is another reason I would think it would be hilarious if Zack didn't kill her. Like, "Oh, stay away from this serial killer guy, stick with the nice normal guy!" and its the latter one who kills her? Surely that is irony?
