TV commentary:
The Fosters- Woah, that thing with Callie and Liam, is that case law that's actually happened in real life? So the lawyer is all, since its her word against his, a jury might not believe her if she says he raped her. But if she says it was consensual, then it turns into statutory rape? So if she cries rape, they might not believe her, but if she says she totally wanted it, then they can be all, "Oh, you silly girl, you can't consent for yourself", and then the patriarchy will consider it rape?! Call me a cynic, but it sounds just crazy and ridiculous enough to be true, that such bullshit could actually happen in real life.
But yeah, even if she wants justice, she doesn't want to take the "easy" win and lie on the stand to put him away. So she says he raped her raped her- though in that typical TV manner where she gets to make some great speech on the stand and the defense doesn't try to stop her.
But what the shit, morons? Stef and Lena tell Jude and Callie they're going to take them in, and that's when Callie and Brandon finally decide to start going for it? When Wyatt (who btw is moving to Indiana since his family lost their house) told her to go for it, did she remember he was all, "Your situation with the foster is prolly only temporary anyways". But now that its not, they can't ever go for it. Nice fake-out though, they made it look like Talya was about to catch them, but it was Jude.
But damn, he really let her have it- because she was about to ruin the good thing they have going. Kinda harsh though, saying she was selfish, and even if it wasn't Brandon, she'd find other way to fuck it all up, because she doesn't know how not to. And if it was just her, that's her prerogative. But she and Jude are package deal so its not just her life she's effin up.
And he's in the right here, but of course, all the Brallie shippers will be all, "How dare he, he's the selfish one, not Callie!" They're going to be family, they can't get together now! They're young anyways, give it a few years, if they still feel the same way after they're out of the house, then go for it.
But argh, somehow she reads this as she's effing up her brother's life, and runs away, leaving Jude with the Fosters at the end, and hitching a ride with Wyatt. Well, he does say she should go home, but since she decides to be all "Fine, I'll just go off on my own", so he has no choice but to give her a ride. I can only hope the next ep starts with him ending up back at the Fosters all "What are you, effin crazy, go home!"
But yeah on to the wedding, I'm glad Lena finally said something, because Stef was kinda being a bitch- yeah, she finally proposed, but then she's such a sourpuss about everything, saying this is stupid, that is stupid. Why did you say you wanted to get married if you're gonna shit all over it? As Lena said, don't do her any favors.
But then she goes to see her dad and it becomes clear- okay, she did think gay marriage was wrong, but only because she just kept hearing his voice in her head judging her, telling her it was wrong. So she in turn tells her dad not to do her any favors- only come if he's behind the wedding 100%, not because Stef's mom strong armed him into it. Shockingly, they don't go the happy Hollywood route- he does not end up showing up.
Hmm, and it looks like I guess Ana did say off screen that Mike shot her bf when he didn't have a gun in his hand. He's incredulous, and then Stef does reveal yeah, she knows- but its not like he was surrendering, he had dropped the gun, but there's no way Mike could've known he was no longer a threat. Shots were fired, his adrenaline was flowing, he saw his partner and ex-wife lying bloody on the ground. She says she can change her statement, but he tells her not to- they may think she's just lying to protect him and putting her job in jeopardy.
Speaking of, she's going back on duty a week after the wedding, as Lena finds out when Stef's captain off-handedly mentions it, not knowing Stef hadn't said anything. At first you think its going to cause another fight, but nope Lena makes her peace with the fact that Stef is a cop, and she's the kinda person who's going to go out there and risk her life to uphold the law.
Finally, Lexi's family is going back to Honduras to visit her sick grandma- what she doesn't know is that they don't plan to come back. They're all, "She'll be heartbroken when she finds out the truth!" No shit, excuse me being all pro-America, but yeah, I'm going to say its way better to be here than in Honduras. I mean, she's kinda a coconut too- during Mariana's sweet 16, didn't they imply she couldn't even speak Spanish?! Lexi is going to be fricking miserable.
