geebsSo Cracked did an article on 6 Horrible Aftermaths Implied by Movies With Happy Endings. And one of them is about Forrest Gump, and how he devastated that Bayou La Batre community- his boat was the only shrimping boat that survived, so with no competition, Forrest scoops up a monopoly on shrimping. After all, most shrimpers in that area aren't rich, everything they have is tied up in their boats. So its not like they can get a new boat and get back to shrimping right quick, they have to wait on insurance, and by the time that comes through, if ever, Forrest controls the market.
But, they showed that Forrest had a whole fleet of boats. I doubt he'd just come in with these boats, staffed by a bunch of outsiders, I'm sure he'd hire those other shrimpers. Sure, now they work for Forrest, but they wouldn't be out of jobs.
TV commentary:
True Blood- Okay, I'm totally confused by the timeline. So Sookie hears Arlene crying in the cemetery from Faerie, but its like that same day Terry got shot- after all, we later hear the kids don't even know yet. Okay, so what is she crying to? I thought she was crying over Terry's grave, but he couldn't have been buried that quickly, and again, the kids were unaware at that point. Is she like crying over where he's going to be buried? That's kinda weird, because he's not even there yet!
But yeah, given its only been a few days this whole season, its still weird when you have Sookie not knowing about Andy's daughters and stuff. Heh, when Holly Cleary introduced her sons to Adilyn-BCD, I thought they were gonna have a joke about how she picks up on their dirty thoughts. Or maybe I'm just a pervert and the average teenage boy does not think dirty thoughts upon meeting a hot chick.
And I call shenanigans on Portia- did she not see Bill? Wasn't she glamered to run screaming whenever she sees him? Or maybe she didn't get a good look? (Or the writers forgot?) I assume she's going to be in more eps later, and they didn't just have her for that cameo appearance?
Also, when I saw the guide say "Sarah gets revenge on Jason" I was thinking maybe she was going to do something more to Jessica. But I forgot he was blackmailing her, and with the Governor dead, he has no leverage. So, she tosses him into gen pop. Tara tries to protect him, but since that one chick told the other chicks to back off when Jessica gave her blood ration to Tara since she was still full from Andy's daughters, apparently she has final say? But really, this again? Isn't this like the time Jason was tied up and forced to bang all the werepanther chicks? I mean, I assume Sarah is thinking they'll eat him, not rape him, but given the sexual nature of vampires, feeding on unwilling participants was always kinda rape-ish. Like if the scripts were flipped and someone through a chick into male gen pop, people would flip their shit.
