Major Crimes- Heh, this ep was kinda hilarious. Particularly the guy getting Rusty's help with "Amy". "Oh, won't your boyfriend get jealous you hanging out with a handsome guy like him?" Smooth. Lucky for the guy, it did seem like Sykes was already into him.
But did they really deport the mother to Mexico? I mean, she was totally fine with them doing that to her own son, so she's kinda a huge bitch, but still! Didn't the Closer end with them naming a law after Brenda preventing just that? I mean, technically they are just extraditing her to Mexico, but they know its corrupt enough over there that they are practically signing her death sentence.
Defiance- Ha, what is this, L&O: Defiance? That opening sequence was straight out of L&O, what with Alak Tarr having his bachelor party and getting into that fight and the scuffle revealing a corpse in the walls, complete with shocking exclamation/amusing comment.
It was interesting to see the flashbacks to the characters from years ago. Back when Tommy was a card hustler, Datak was a small time thug, Kenya a waitress and wife to an abusive husband, and Amanda just a mayor's aide, begging her sister to leave said husband. Even Rafe helped out Datak once. But the biggest hocking reveal by far is Nicky Riordan being a secret Indogene spy. Was she like that astronaut who seemed like be an organic robot assassin who had the astronaut guy's memory downloaded into him to act like a sleeper, or was she an actual Indogene who had an operation to look human?
In any case, I did not expect Doc Yewl to kill her and then fake her suicide along with a convenient note admitting to killing Kenya's husband and the bartender. So the Doc has the Kaziri now, which she has put away for safe keeping, seemingly knowing its dangerous and hiding it for the greater good. Which is interesting, because with Nicky dead, that kinda effectively ends that storyline, given she said no one else was left working with her, hence her asking for Yewl to join back up last week. I mean, I doubt it is the end of that, I'm sure someone else wants the Kaziri, but it seemed like Nicky had a plan, and that's been effectively ended.
