Walking Dead- Hmm, interesting deviation from the comic. Well, it was already deviating from the comic what with Andrea running into Michonne on the road (rather than Andrea having never been separated from the group and Michonne first showing up after they settled at the prison) But rather than having Rick and Glenn and Michonne scouting a nearby crashed helicopter and learning about Woodbury like in the comic, they have Andrea and Michonne happen upon the chopper.

They hide when some men show up in vehicles. They stab the heads of the dead people in the helicopter (which shock the ladies as they're unaware of the whole everyone becomes a walker when they die) and Michonne ends up killing her pets to shut them up. They think they're in the clear when Merle manages to sneak up behind them.

They're taken to Woodbury, and we learn all about it and its leader, the Governor. The ladies are suspicious. Which they should be about any settlement that takes Merle in willingly. Andrea tells Merle all that's happened with the group, and various Woodbury folks try to give the ladies the sell on what a good place this is.

There's another new non-comic character, Milton, (at first I thought he was supposed to be Eugene) who seems like a scientist type. He plays exposition fairy, talking about how Michonne was a genius for what she did- apparently removing their arms and jaws made them docile. Since they couldn't eat and attack, they no longer would do so, and they "camouflaged" the girls from other walkers.

The Governor at least seems like a strong leader, on the up and up. Interesting, when the Governor and Milton (is he gay, or just fussy?) question them over a meal, they have a quick convo about whether there's anything left of the person when they become a walker. Hmm, knowing what I do about the governor, between this and his convo with Milton talking about Michonne's pets, I wonder if this is about his daughter? Especially given the way he stares at her picture at the end.

Anyways, Michonne totally doesn't trust the Governor. Particularly since he's taken their weapons away- every time she asks for them, he says, we'll give them back, outside of town. But he keeps saying they should stay, its safer with them. Andrea for her part is asking very hard questions. Like she disapproved of a strung up walker she saw on their way to Woodbury, which they try to explain as the guys going out to fight get a little high strung, but the governor will address it to the men. Or how they were able to exist, as the military folks had walls, and they learned how that turned out. Still, it seems like Andrea wants to believe this is all on the up and up. Of course, maybe of Woodbury wants that, they shouldn't have people creepily watch them on the streets

Speaking of, the Governor questions the survivor from the helicopter crash. He apparently had friends waiting on him. The Governor is all tell me where they are, I'll help them and take them back to you if they're still alive! He goes there, gets them to let their guard down, and he and his men slaughter them all and take their equipment. But no M2 Bradley amongst that equipment, wonder if they've already gotten one, or get more intel to lead them to a base with them. Actually, the pilot talked about their previous settlement getting overrun, maybe that's how they'll link Andrea and Michonne back up with the rest of the group. In the comic the gang did have a run in with Woodbury at a base with Bradleys. I mean, Andrea has no idea where the group is, for months, so its not like she could lead them to the prison, so there has to be a way for them to get on Woodbury's radar?

In any case, the Governor lies to the town, saying they arrived too late to save the soldiers, but hey, at least they have their equipment!

Hmm, I'm curious, given the changes in the story, will Andrea get her facial scars because of Woodbury since she's not in the prison (plus the last two remaining prisoners don't seem like they're the secret serial killer dude) And what's up with Milton's tea? The Governor says he keeps him around for his intellect and tea. At first, I thought it was a joke, but then Milton gets all creepy when he asks Andrea how her tea was.

Anyways, at the end, I was expecting the room the Governor goes into to have his chained up daughter like in the comics. Nope, it has fish tanks full of decapitated heads. At first we think its just walker heads, but one of them has the head of a non-walker. (The chopper pilot, I think?)
