SVU- That was an crazy season premiere. What I find most annoying was that this Delia chick seemed to be one step ahead of everyone, so the way she finally got taken down seemed kinda stupid. I suppose that made her cocky, as she'd gotten over every charge before with help from the various people she owned. So to get her off the latest set of charges, Paget Brewster gave her immunity for helping out the NYPD in the future and testifying against Cragen. And it seemed like if they didn't do that last part, Olivia might not have had such a big hard on to figure things out!
Its like, yeah, it would be frustrating for the lady to be getting away with all these crimes, and they would prolly still be looking at her for a while, trying to crack her. But hinging her immunity on screwing over Cragen just seemed retarded, because at that point it gives the detectives an even more vested interest in breaking her! Yeah, light a fire under them, that's smart!
Like when Paula was telling Olivia, "Look at my sick daughter, if you turn me in, who will take care of her!?" Yeah, that would suck for the daughter, but did she think Liv would be all, "Oh, because I feel sorry for you, who I've known for like a couple of days, I'll pick you over my good friend of over 10 years!" Seriously, look how many people went tumbling down because of this! Surely, with all those people in her pocket, they could've come up with a way to get her off that didn't involve screwing over the Captain and thus cause SVU to work overtime on the case.
Anyways, the whole thing with Liv and Cassidy was also weird. I think I do remember them him having a crush on her back in the day, and then with him getting shot and her kissing him, I was thinking, might they date? But then they revealed he had been banging hot-ass Karissa (Apparently the actress is Aussie in real life? spcv('Nice!')), did that turn Liv off?
Of course all in all, the plot seems convoluted. So Taub send Karissa to kill the former senator to out Delia as a madame. They think Delia killed Karissa and framed Cragen out of revenge, but that was Taub too, because Karissa felt disrespected being used like that and she was in love with Cassidy and was gonna leave Taub for him. Which, if Cassidy really did care for the girl, he sure was playing it cool, given her murder. Unless she was just trying to push Taub's buttons. But it seemed like she was just some piece Cassidy was banging, because didn't he even basically say to Amaro, "Hey, did you break off a piece o' that, she loves cops!"
And Taub figured out Cassidy was UC, so he got a crooked cop on his payroll to set him to get killed. Eventually, they figure him out, and expose him screwing over his lawyer, so they get the guy to flip on him, bringing Taub's business down. Meanwhile, the Delia chick is killing all the girls who could testify against her, and then capitalizes on the Cragen thing to get off? Its just seems insane that you have these two different bosses with these apparently long reaches doing this and that independent of each other. And apparently they have a crap load of corrupt folks on their payroll. Delia more than Taub, but still! Again, how many people friggin went down because of all this. It seems almost too scandalous!
