So I saw this article about the EU requiring to have this autonomous braking system in their cars in a few years. And the first sentence is talking about the "dream" of a fully autonomous car. Who wants a self-driving car?! The fun of driving is you know, driving!

WO blather- More character commentary:

Taigong Wang- So, apparently he's got a sort of fisherman motif going on. His weapon is a rod with a giant bobber, which he basically uses like a flail. His charge attacks end with the bobber smashing into the ground, leaving behind these yin yang orbs. His R1 special will blow up any orbs that have been placed. Its an interesting enough moveset, though I swear the mystic mines are a little useless, as most things get killed by his normal moves anyway, there's hardly anything left to get blowed up. Well, there's always enemies about, and sure, detonating the bombs will get something, but you could just easily kill them by hitting them!

Yuan Shao- Since Liu Shan has the normal rapier moveset from DW7, that means Yuan Shao has new moves, just like Sima Shi. He may be a goofy fop, but they sure did make him kinda bad-ass moves wise. His aerial charge and C5 are a dashing drop kick/stab respectively, kinda like Akuma/Adon have in Street Fighter. His EX attack is a rain of arrows, much like Joan of Arc or Cao Cao. The "fire support" attacks are a little overpowered though. Particularly Joan of Arc and Yuan Shao's, as they're off the S-string, whereas Cao Cao's has a longer wind up time since its off his C1. But yeah, those two and Sakon's (which I like because I feel like I'm getting fire support from a sniper with a machine gun), its like a persisting area of effect attack which few characters can compare.

But I digress, his R1 special is a "beam of glory", which is basically a powerful laser beam that shoots out of his sword, which is neat for sniping.

Susano'o- Well, he ought to be powerful, since he's one of the bosses of the game. But yeah, he just feels monstrous. I heard people say his moveset isn't all that great, but I don't know what they're talking about. His full S-string has great 360 coverage, his c4 is a kinda tornado storm that wipes out crowds, his c5 similarly wipes out crowds, but with a wall of lightning strikes all around him. His R1 special though, is basically an insta-kill on anything. Well, I'm sure there are some things in the really hard difficulties that can survive, but only one, nothing can take two. And given it activates weapon elements, with osmosis you can almost do it to your heart's content, provided there's enough enemies around to be killed by it to refill your musou meter.

TV commentary

True Blood- Huh, Molly is a vampire? I thought she was a human who just worked for the vamps. And heh, being played by Tina Majorino, Molly is basically Mac as a vampire. Anyways, get some resolution to a couple of storylines. Patrick takes Arlene hostage and tries to shoot Terry, but Arlene stabs him and they turn the tables on him. He says he has a family too, but Iraqi lady ghost tells him he must do what's right, so Terry executes him. The Ifrit takes Patrick's body, and ghost lady says the curse is lifted.

Ah, so the Dragon is just Bud's new girlfriend?! That's kinda random! Andy ends up shooting the former sheriff to save Sam (after he naked fights the Obama gang), whilst Luna (also naked) takes down Dragon lady. Anyways, the shifters and the sheriff's department manage to rescue Sookie (not that they knew she needed rescuing) and Hoyt, who was hanging on by a thread after almost being fed to pigs. So those storylines are done with at least.

Of course, Luna won't be too happy when she finds out Russell took Emma and gave her as a pet to Steve Newlin! Also, Molly and Eric try to escape with an unconscious Nora, but Bill apparently betrays them after hallucinating Lilith whilst effing Salome. Seriously though, they couldn't have just grabbed Eric and Molly? They had to go through the whole ruse of them opening up the elevator to see Salome standing there? I mean, she didn't have anything better to do than to wait in that elevator for them to try and escape?!

Oh, and Alcide's father is the T1000, who was abjured at some point. Heh, that flashback, I didn't realize Alcide knew Debbie all his life. Also, she dressed kinda trashy even when she was young.

Who wants a self-driving car?!

Oh, me. Absolutely.

About once a week the local newspaper reports someone in their 70's or 80's who caused a fatal crash because they "didn't see" the other vehicle; we may be in FL, but most of the retirees who move to the state are a little further south, so I would hate to see what the accident stats are elsewhere.

Yeah. Would love to see a requirement that, over a certain age/after failing a vision/driving/whatever test, people have to let a better driver take over, even if it's an AI.

Do you remember that for a while we thought it wasn't safe for me to drive, either? For a year and a half I was pretty much trapped at home unless someone else could give me a ride. There's no public transit out here. Do you know how that feels? How isolating and diminishing, not to be able to get into my own car and go somewhere even when I need to go?

And then there's just the fact that it'd be nice to get into a car after a workday, tell it "I want to be at [some address 12 hours away]," and go to sleep. If you've got a good enough self-driving car and a good enough bed, road trips could be nothing. You just wake up at your destination in the morning and get on with life.
