You bring up some good points. I guess the option is fine for the scenarios you brought up, I just don't want it to get to the point where everything is self driving and people get limited where they can actually drive.
And heh, call me prejudiced, but I don't trust AIs/robots. Look at Terminator and Battlestar Galactica and Eagle Eye and Wargames and the Matrix! I'm gonna let them cart me around while I sleep?
