The Sokka being blood bent scene might be different from the court room scene, but I guess I thought the reason the defendant guy was blood bending multiple people because it looked like he definitely stopped Toph, and it seemed like Aang and random metal benders in the gallery were trying to raise their hands to do something but couldn't. But I suppose it could just be them gesturing in a "Stop!" kinda motion.
But yeah, I'm like 90% sure Amon is going to end up being a bender. Not to knock non-benders or anything, but its one thing to hit the right chi points to temporarily block bending, but it would take a whole different type of power altogether to take it away completely.
But yeah, I forgot Tarlokk seemed kinda offended when Korra compared him to Amon, which I don't think he would be if they were in cahoots. Given that Amon wears a mask, if he's not a character we the audience have already seen on LoK itself, or an older version of someone from the original show, at the very least I'm sure he's someone the characters on the show would recognize. The fire nation characters from the original show seem to be far too absent so far for there not to be some connection to the show already that the audience may not be aware of yet.
