TV commentary:

Glee- Holy cow, the first hour was just so friggin amazing. It was funny, and engrossing, and emotional. This is why still watch the show when so many people have given up, because yeah, half of the time now its full of ridiculous, sometimes offensive BS, but when the show does good, it hits out of the friggin park. I mean, I was just expecting a funny body swap episode. And those first 20 minutes were hilarious! But then the switcheroo was done with they had all that stuff with Bieste and Puck and Tina getting her due and helping Rachel convince Carmen Tibideaux to possibly give her another chance. (Heh, they act like Tina will be the club lead "next year", so I'm holding them to that. It would be kinda assy of the show if next season she isn't head of the glee club at Mckinley.) Its cool that Tina finally got a plot, and I'm glad they did re-address the Bieste thing and she left her husband. (Of course, if there is one complaint about that, its that they continue with the trend where the chyx on this show need a guy to "save" them. The girls and Coach Sue and Roz weren't enough to convince Bieste to get out of her abusive relationship, but seeing Puck feeling like crap and being there for him is enough to snap her out of it?)

But weird, they actually had ND go first during Nationals? And wait, were the non-ND Troubletones girls (cool, the Mack is back!) on the bus? Or the jazz band? Or did they make their way to Chicago some other way? Also, I'm kinda amused that they end their performance with Rachel and Finn singing lead on "Paradise By The Dashboard Light".

Speaking of, guess I was totally off on the song order. I didn't expect them to start with the Troubletones number (Edge of Glory). But obviously Rachel's version of "It's All Coming Back to Me Now" would be the middle number then, because you don't end with that. And after hearing "Paradise By The Dashboard Light" a few more times, I guess it is a pretty strong number to end on.

The choreography on VA's numbers was pretty tight, and Unique was a really strong lead, I liked the verses, but I wasn't too keen on how they handled the choruses though. Truthfully, New Directions just sung their songs better. Vocal Adrenaline's strength lay on one really strong lead, backed up by really good dancers, but I've always felt ND should get props for being a truly ensemble group with so many good singers. While the dancing is part of the performance, its still a SINGING competition.

But ha, random not-VA or ND group did Starlight Express. I don't know why I'm always amused by references to Starlight Express. Maybe because it was performed on rollerskates and it was about trains or something? And aw, Jesse St James secretly talked up Rachel for Miss Tibideaux.

Now, given half the members were going to graduate, I knew they had to win Nationals. (If it wasn't obvious ND was going to win already, the fact they gave Unique the MVP award sealed it, because that way ND gets to be champions, and Unique still gets to be a poster child for the different) But ngl, my breath still hitched when they were getting ready to announce the winner. I'll also admit the coming back to school sequence was pretty heartwarming. And ha, Will finally got to bang Emma because of the ND win! Heh, what was up with the random mysterious Rachel fan who asked her to sign her yearbook?

And wow, you really can't please everyone- Brittany and Santana get another kiss, and the Klaine fans are all, how come Kurt and Blaine don't get a kiss? Of course, when they focus on Klaine, the Brittana fans say the Klainers always get everything. Of course, whenever the straight couples (like the so-called Finchel) have their PDA, the Klainers and Brittanans are all the straight couples get to make out all the time, but the gay/lesbian couples only get hugs and looks.

And I know Will is a main character and all, but it is still ridiculous he got Teacher of the Year, because they established previously he was a lousy teacher in the Ricky Martin episode. I mean, yeah, he was inspiring to the Glee club, but what about the rest of the school?
