Glee- As stated earlier, part of the way I've been getting over this Glee hiatus is reading Faberry fic. This one in particular, Undeniable, is just ridiculously amazing. I normally don't go for the ultra long fics, but its so well done and packs such an emotional punch I can't put it down!
Also, some people were excited about Matt Bomer being in the first ep after the break as Blaine's brother, but given how they went into the break, now some people are also pretty annoyed because its like, "Oh, Quinn just got hit by a truck! So logically the next episode should be about BLAINE AND HIS FAMILY!"
Hart of Dixie- Heh, I can't believe Wade was oblivious that Magnolia was crushing on him until Shelley brought it up. Also, of the things Brick got mad about with Magnolia, I can't believe he bypassed her outfits. Because some of those dresses were totally inappropriate for someone her age to be wearing (like that strapless number when she went to see Wade at the bar).
Getting back to Shelley though, I think I've said before that one thing that amuses me about this show is how multicultural Bluebell is. It is the 21st century, but still, for a town thst's supposed to be a "traditional" Southern town, its cool that its practically color blind. White, Black, Hispanic, Asian, everyone has a thick Southern accent, even Catalina from My Name is Earl and Carl Winslow.
Anyways, this show has managed to carve such an intricate love pentagon. Because apparently a simple triangle isn't enough! But its heartbreaking the way everyone is woven together, and the number of parallels that take place are almost ridiculous.
So, George wins some prestigious award. And Levon, has to give a speech about him, which obviously sucks for him since he's still hung up on Lemon. He's unsuccessful in coming up with something, so Zoe comes and saves him by making a lovely impromptu speech. Unfortunately, after the speech, Lemon wanted a copy for her records since it was so beautiful. Zoe tries to cover, but Lemon, Brick, and George see the paper Zoe was reading from was blank, so she made the pretty intimate speech herself. So they realize Zoe has a thing for George, which causes all sorts of repercussions!
For one, Magnolia tells Wade about the speech, and he's hurt, because Zoe still thinks George is so great, and he is George's best friend, so he knows how much better George is than him. So just like Levon was struggling to come up with a speech, so to Wade with his song. Unlike Levon though, he just goes with awkwardness and since Magnolia was grounded and couldn't help him sing anyways, he used that as an excuse and simply but succinctly says "George is great!" So while he's feeling sucky that he doesn't think he can compare to George in Zoe's eyes, at the same time, George is like a brother to him, so of course he thinks the world of George, but the conflicting emotions just make him unable to say much more.
Since Lemon is pretty pissed at Zoe, and Levon is worried Zoe might subconsciously out the affair because she likes George even though she promised she wouldn't, Levon feels like he has no choice but to tell Lemon Zoe knows. Which freaks Lemon the hell out, because her worst enemy knows the one big secret that could destroy things with George. Heh, before she found out what Zoe knows, she tells George he likes to see the best in people, but it blinds him to the truth. First, that's kinda rich coming from her, because she's lucky he is that way, and if he wasn't he might figure out things between her and Levon. Secondly, it has some pretty bad consequences later for George and his dad.
Because he applies what she said to his dad, and when his dad comes around with a reporter to do a story about him winning the Motty, he thinks his dad is trying to do a puff piece to build up his brother and his dad didn't care about the award at all. So he's pissed, and when Lemon tries to tell him about Levon before Zoe does, he's so angry at his dad that Lemon feels she can't tell him while he's like that.
Speaking of, when Zoe learns Levon told Lemon she knows, she confronts him saying she said she never would reveal their secret (like last week, when she did hold her tongue), and maybe she's not the one he needs to worry about subconsciously doing something to ruin things. And he said he trusted Zoe, so maybe he told Lemon knowing she would want to tell George before Zoe does, hoping to subconsciously wreck things.
But getting back to Lemon telling George he's too trusting, he's so upset that he lambasts his dad, and accuses him of loving his brother more than him, and giving his dad a heart attack. He's feeling even shittier when he learns the reporter was indeed just for him, and not something to build up his brother, and his dad really was proud of him. George ends up blaming Lemon, because it was her comments that made him get mad at his dad.
And the heart thing is pretty bad. Given Zoe's fake dad is a big deal heart surgeon, you know where this is headed. Brick says he knows a surgeon who can try to save his dad, but in all honesty, they need Zoe's dad. But George could never ask her to do that, given how things are between she and her dad currently. Wade, however, overhears this, and knowing George needs this despite not wanting to ask Zoe, he asks Zoe for him.
So we end the ep with Zoe calling her dad, and going to comfort George, and Lemon and Wade standing outside the room, looking in and thinking they're about to lose the people they love to each other.
