TV commentary:

Nikita- Wow, could there be any more sides to this conflict (or people with their own agenda?) So, Oversight is tired of this whole Nikita/Division mess. But, they place the blame solely on Division. Yeah, Nikita is a rogue spy who's been causing trouble, but only because Percy got out of control. So, they want to just invoke a protocol that will kill everyone at Division. Though surely a place like Division always has ops running? The rest of oversight try to convince Madeline why this is option is for the greater good by making an analogy to the soldiers in Saddam's army that the US dismantled becoming enemies who killed thousands of our soldiers. But unless they ensure all of Division is at their HQ (and surely a place like Division isn't so centralized!) at the time, yes, they might wipe out a lot of them, but what of the people out there? They're highly trained assassins and spies! They might not take too kindly to finding out the organization they work for got wiped out!

So they want to wipe out Division. Madeline is apparently the nicest of the bunch, and wants to dismantle Division and just phase all the personnel out without killing them. And she wants her son to be in charge of that. Which he does not feel like doing at all! But he's loyal to his mom, and a boyscout who doesn't want all those lives to be lost, so he'll do it if that ends up being the decision.

But, in the meantime, he decides to go after Nikita, thinking that will end the problem if they don't have her to worry about mucking up things. He traces Alex via the bug he placed in her watch, and tries to snipe Nikki, but Alex stops him. Well, he wouldn't have been successful anyways, because Birkhoff knows a thing or two about security, and the windows are sniper proof. (And aw, its kinda sweet that Birkhoff let Alex know he could remove the bug without having to destroy her father's watch, its a nice little touch that shows the gang really is a family that cares about each other)

They interrogate Sean, and eventually figure out he doesn't know the truth, and if he did, maybe he would be on their side. They break things down for him, and it seems to work.

Meanwhile, back in Division, Percy makes it known he's planning to escape and there's nothing she can do about it. She still doesn't know Roan is Percy's mole, so her circling the wagons is kinda pointless. She and Percy have a heated argument, where Percy claim he's not as self-interested as he seems, and gets under her skin by telling her the real reason she's pissed at him is because they weren't the "mommy and daddy" of Division she thought they were.

Eventually, she gets pissed (and also has a conversation with a mysterious other party?), and makes an offer to Oversight, that she'll put Percy in a medically induced coma so they don't have to worry about his kill switch. So they agree, though unbeknown to her, they still plan to gas Division.

But we finally find out Percy's plan. He wasn't going to have his Guardians break him out of Division. No, he counted on Oversight activating the Clean Sweep protocol. So they actually strike Oversight and take them hostage. Of course Amanda could care less if they die, but since they control Clean Sweep, the Guardians threaten to gas the place if they don't release Percy. Lucky for her, Nikki and company overhear the whole thing, having called Madeline not a minute earlier, threatening them to not activate Clean Sweep lest they upload a (non-existant) black box.

Fringe- Damn, its been long while since the last ep, so things were a little fuzzy. Wait, so since when was the "normal" side so sure the shapeshifters were from the alt-verse? Or were they just going by process of elimination. Also, this alternate timeline still has some curious foibles. So this Olivia can't cross universes with her mind? But then how did Walternate find out about the whole Peter kidnapping plot? Or does she have that power, but not know it thanks to whatever weird stuff Nina's doing to her?

Pretty good twists this ep. So Peter and Lincoln sneak over to the alternate verse (seriously, the fact that its an alternate alternate verse is very confusing!) because Walter isn't wanting to help Peter get back to "his own" universe. Well, its Peter's intention to get Walternate to help him. But Lee is on a mission to investigate the shapeshifters. Despite Lincoln's pretty decent lying, they still end up getting caught, and almost killed by a sleeper Fringe agent, whom everyone assumes is working for Walternate.

Indeed, he is acting shifty, not letting anyone investigate the new shapeshifters (who btw the alt-verse thinks is from the normal-verse!) and it looks like he's trying to cover his tracks. That's what Lincoln thinks, and he tries to convince Fauxlivia and alt-Lincoln of his theory. They're hesitant to believe him, but there is enough suspicious stuff going on, that they don't not believe him.

Anyways, Peter makes it to his mum, he instantly recognizes him, and even though he lets her know he's not her Peter, she helps him anyways to see Walternate.

And again given Walter/Walternate's general creepiness, it feels like Peter is in Walternate's clutches. He brings in alt-Brandon, and it looks like he's covering his tracks trying to convince Peter he's not responsible for the shapeshifters, by way of having alt-Brandon stating there is no way Walternate could be the creator of the new shape-shifters. But nope, its a ruse, and apparently alt-Brandon is a shapeshifter! Walternate subdues him, and in a big twist, Walternate is a good guy! He knows there's this new enemy out there, and wants Peter to convince the other side they need to work together. He'll help Peter get back to his own time and place if only he'll unite the two universes.

But who's not good? Alt-Broyles! Turns out the random redshirt and alt-Brandon aren't the only spies in Fringe division. And who's their big boss? Mr Jones, who's apparently alive in this timeline. Which they actually foreshadowed by having Peter randomly mention to Lee how he killed a guy by closing a portal on him (which is how he killed Mr Jones in the original timeline)

Oh, and in yet another twist, an mortally wounded Observer shows up to see Olivia, and ominously warns her that he's seen all possible futures, and the only way for things to work out "right" is for her to die, before disappearing.
