Glee- So, tonight's ep was the "Losin' it" episode. You know, the PTC was all, "OMG, teen sex!" and freaking out, but I think the show actually managed to be all PG about it. No steamy make-outs, no foreplay, just all snuggly (and fully clothed) afterglow.
Of course, the plot contrivance to make it happen was Artie being an ultra-creepy busy body. I mean, thinking Rach and Blaine were having trouble with such passionate roles in the play because they were virgins? Which is the impetus for them to consider doing it. But thankfully, neither Finchel nor Klaine end up doing it for those reasons. But more in that later. Artie also sticks his nose in Bieste's business by playing matchmaker with her and recruiter guy. While its nice to see Bieste get some happiness, how was any of that Artie's concern?
Anyways, speaking of that recruiter, he gently breaks to Finn that he's not good enough to play college, so Finn's all upset that he's not good enough to get a scholarship for either football or singing, and he's gonna be stuck in Lima forever. So Rach ends up trading in her V-card to give him a sympathy bone.
Hey, Finn's a nice guy and all, but I'm still not a big fan of Finchel. He's like a big doofy albatross around her neck. Like Quinn said last year, Finn's prolly destined to be stuck in Lima. And honestly, there's nothing wrong with that, not everyone can be a superstar. He could prolly make a decent, honest living taking over Burt's garage. So it just seems like he'd be holding Rachel back. I mean, where would they see their relationship going? Eventually she'd go to LA or NY and make a career for herself, and he just doesn't seem like the guy who would fit in that world. Which is why I've always favored her with Puck. At least I can see him going to those places, doing something like becoming a bartender or even playing guitar in small clubs to make ends meet. I feel he could possibly work himself into Rachel's big city life, Finn not so much. Finn's small town, Puck seems more of the see where the road takes him kinda type, which meshes with trying to make it in the big city than the former.
Anyways, as for Blaine, he visits his old alma matter, and meets a new "exciting" boy, Sebastian. He's all worldly and is playing the temptress, all, "I won't tell Kurt if you won't". Of course, once Kurt meets Sebastian, he gets pretty jealous. Of course, he does have cause to be suspicious, because Sebastian is trying to work himself in there, dancing with Blaine all night after they sneak into Lima's only gay club. (And weird, apparently Karofsky transferred out? It was nice to see him and Kurt be all friendly, he's grown. I used to think people who wanted to see Kurt and Dave together were kinda crazy, but their scene in the bar makes me think it could work) Blaine gets plastered and tries to do it right there with Kurt in the car in the parking lot, but Kurt has a little more self respect than that. By the end of the episode though, with clearer heads and reassurances by Blaine that Sebastian means nothing to him, Kurt invites himself to Blaine's so they can lose their V-cards to each other.
In the C-plot, Mike's dad finds out about the play, and they do the whole, "I have no son!" thing. I'm glad they stuck with that and they didn't have a cheesy 11th hour, Mike's dad showing up and coming to term with his son wanting to be a dancer instead of a doctor. Also, it was sweet that while his dad wasn't there, his mother was really happy for him. Oh and what the, Rory is in the play, and they make him a Shark instead of a Jet?!
