So, Saturday finally saw Wicked, with
turdburgler. Heh, a few weeks ago, she was all, "You're not gonna sing along are you?" Who does she think I am, Andy Richter at the Sound of Music? In any case, I'd had the soundtrack on my ipod for years, but this is the first time I'd actually seen it. I enjoyed it a lot. And anyone who keeps a dry eye throughout is a friggin robot!
Today, saw 50/50 with the usual suspects. It was pretty good. The moral of the movie is, cancer sucks, but if you're lucky, you'll pull through and get to start dating your cute (and incredibly unprofessional) therapist! So what hotties were in this? They had Plastique (you know, the ethnic looking one in the Secret Circle), spawn of Ron Howard as JGL's cute redheaded gf, and Anna Kendrick as his therapist.
Heh, so over dinner,
phatjoe was talking about seeing Scott Pilgrim one time and the chick he was watching it with remarked on how plain and boring looking Anna Kendrick is. Hey, it still totally works for her though! I think she's totally mad cute. And she has a nice set!
In any case, in the movie she's playing 24, and there's this whole joke in the movie where she's apparently too young to know who the hell Doogie Howser is. Really, people in their mid-20s wouldn't know who Doogie Howser was?! Ah'm skeptical! Also, the joke is a little weird when you think about it because JGL's character is only a few years older than her. I think a joke where some younger person doesn't know something obvious to an older person works better when there's a significant age diff between the. With her being 24 and him 27 in the movie, they would've been in high school at the same time!
TV commentary:
Doctor Who- So that's how that got resolved. So the doctor was at the beach of Lake Silencio. But he was in the Tessaract! Convenient. So the universe thinks he's dead, but River and her parents are the only ones who know.
Hmm, I wonder when that last scene took place? It was obviously after the Byzantium for River. But by Amy's perspective, when was it? Because when she saw the Doctor die, she continued off to have adventures with the younger version of the Doc. But this had to be close to the event for her to be in mourning. And after "Kill Hitler", because Amy knows River is her daughter, and they act like they've been reunited since the Battle of Demon's Run.
Ah, whatever, I'm sure it makes sense somehow. And ha, so the mysterious question is "Doctor Who?"
