TV commentary:

Community- Heh, I did not see the second half of the s2 paintball ep to turn into a Star Wars thing. And they managed to have just enough Star Wars, without being too Star Wars reference-y. Also amused it was Abed, and not Jeff, who ended up being the Han Solo figure (mostly because he wanted to grab the role up before Jeff inevitably became it). Oh, and Annie's outfit was pretty cleavage-y last week, but somehow being doused in paint totally highlighted her nice rack.

But hey, its nice to see Abed get his from Annie being Leia to his Han

Nikita- Ah, interesting game changer, yet again! Well, looks like there was no secret codes going between Alex and Nikita last ep. She was pretty hurt about Nikita killing her dad, though I think it was unnecessary of them to turn it into a sitch where she was trying to save Alex because she had no desire to butcher an entire family, but when she got to Alex's room, her dad was there and pointed a gun at her, so Nikita had no choice but to kill him in self defense. I mean, it sounded like there was no way Alex's dad was going to survive the attack, and its not like Nikita would really have a choice anyways if she did encounter him. Why add the extra thing of, "Oh, he shot (well raised his gun) at me first while I was trying to save you!"?

So she did shoot at Nikita, knowing she was wearing a vest. But apparently since she knew from the whole Jaden thing that Roan injects the body with a muscle relaxant that purges toxins from the body, she injected Nikita with some poison (that's what she grabbed from the loft) to make her seem dead. No matter what Nikita had done in the past, she still owed her, plus she didn't want Percy's plan to actually succeed, and she had no way of stopping it.

Still though, I can't believe Roan and Percy weren't more suspicious that Nikita seemed dead even though the bullets didn't penetrate. I mean they thought she went into hemorrhagic shock from the impact on her vest? I could believe that if they were bigger rounds, but they definitely said they were 9mms.

Anyways, I'll have to see how much time passed in the show's universe from when Jaden got that toxin to when the plan to put Operation Sparrow into affect was first mentioned. Though I guess it could be that since Birkhoff had been ordered by Percy to drop the hints of Operation Sparrow to Michael, the whole it being in motion for weeks was a total lie. Though I forgot from last week's ep when he said he knew Michael was turned, because it seemed both that and the Jaden thing had to happen before he could put the plan into affect. Because he needed both the toxin and a way to setup Nikita to acquire a black box.

But yeah, his plan- get a fake black box with the toxin in it, and once Mad Men guy decoded it and they checked on Operation Sparrow, it would release the toxin in the secure computer room it was decoded in. Of course, it also hinged on the fact that Ryan and analyst guy wouldn't sneak a peak at stuff before they told the CIA director.

Nikita turns herself into the CIA to get in the building to try and stop it, avoiding getting killed by Percy's inside man (who killed the two agents talking to her and framing her for their deaths, though I guess he makes three CIA agents the CIA thinks she just went and murdered). But she gets captured in the process, and the CIA wants to throw the book at her rather than listen to Ryan's plan to let her go and use her help to take down Division and the people backing it. So, Ryan gets a gun and allows her to escape which she does with Mike and Birkhoff(!)'s help. Heh, one, Ryan is all, "break me out when you get the chance!" as she leaves, its like, thanks for telling the CIA DIRECTOR so they know to watch him wherever he ends up imprisoned to possibly capture her. And two, she kisses him goodbye, and while I guess its a peck on the cheek, she did shove her tongue down his throat that last time he helped her, so he might think he's getting some, even though I'm not sure if he's aware she frakking Michael now.

But yeah, Birkhoff helps Michael escape Division, and Michael and Nikita are on the run, Mike having gotten a hold of the box Percy keeps in his safe. Birkoff decoded it before Mikey left, so now they have a decoded black box they're gonna use to try and correct the wrongs they find out that were committed by Division. But since Division did this on behalf of the US government and its allies, and not everything was a side job by Percy, Division prolly isn't gonna be the only one gunning for them now.

As for Alex? Well, after she faked killing Nikita and accepted Division was prolly gonna kill her once they discovered the ruse, she has an interview with Amanda. Who's not actually on board with Percy's plan. It seems she's more loyal to Oversight (heh, which includes an appearance by Madeline from the old show, playing a senator). She basically gets Alex to admit she has a reason to live, then kills her! But only temporarily- she shocked Alex to death and revived her to fool the kill chip into thinking she's dead already.

Amanda lets Alex go and tells her to make her own choices, and for her sake don't go back to Nikita. But she does. Ostensibly to get stuff back at Nikita's loft she can use to go into hiding. Nikita is there of course, and they talk with Nikita apologizing and trying to stop Alex from devoting her life to her new plan- kill the guy who betrayed her father and took over his company. But Division interrupts them and they escape together, but then Alex manages to get away from Nikita in the end, the two of them looking sadly at each other from across rooftops as they now are off on the run doing their own things.

Alex doesn't get far though! She's captured, but not by Division. Nope, Oversight wants her now, thinking she can help them take down Percy. Also with them? Amanda, who tells Alex she warned her to not go back to Nikita. She was finally free, free to make her own choices. But alas, her choices ended up sucking her back into this world.

I think the whole thing definitely makes Amanda more interesting- it sounds like she definitely believes the company line of doing the things the government can't to do the world safe, but she's not corrupt like Percy, nor has the boyscoutish ideals of Michael. And she seems to understand that its a life once you're in it, you'll be stuck there forever. So I think she was legitimately trying to help Alex- Alex had an incredibly rare opportunity, a chance to actually leave the life. But Alex didn't listen, and Amanda is kinda sad for her, because now she's in this for good.

It was a surprise no one of importance died, not even Roan when Nikita escaped from him trying to clean her.
