As much as I love Junior's sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit, they can't seem to get my order right! And I like order it every week, wtf?! Today, they were all, did you order the scrambled egg and cheese biscuit, and before that they tried to give me a bacon egg and cheese biscuit. Maybe if they had more than two people working during breakfast, they wouldn't have so many problems!

Anyways, had a belated b-day cookout. Alas, some people couldn't make it, but it was still a fun time. Good food too. Samiches, the Luther. I dunno, the roomie puts a krispy creme donut between the burger and the bun, but to me that's too bready! Its messy, but I prefer the krispy kremes as buns! And as I've said before, it sounds gross, but don't knock it until you try it. Its so good! ND brought over Jake's, and [livejournal.com profile] zarathrustra94 that uber-rich choco cake. Have a lot of left over cold cuts, so prolly gonna make a lot of samiches this week.

Had a lazy sunday, but didn't go to see Narnia. Nor did I see the Golden Compass. I think the roomie wants to finish up the book before he sees the movie.

[livejournal.com profile] turdburgler lent me the latest two ishes of Basara. Apparently there's two volumes left? The main arc is over, so I'm curious what they're spending the last two volumes on. I guess 25 had a bunch of back story on several of the secondary characters, mebbe they'll continue with that. Which is good, because there are a lot of characters, and reading these with two to three months or more in between volumes, I like forget some of the connections. I'm still baffled there's no good fan site that covers all this, because its a pretty good story with lots of interesting characters. I mean, there are wikis for thousands of TV shows and comic series, why not this one?

The annual Spike TV video game awards were on last night. I guess they had Hayden Christensen and Rachel Bilson on there promoting Jumper, which has a new trailer out. And Kristen Bell won an award for her role in Assassin's Creed. But having those two cuties there I guess inspired this Hollywood Tuna article article about Kristen and Rachel. Together. qv('Alright!') Similar heights, and unlike Kristen/Hayden (Claire-bare, not Anakin!), different hair colors. But that would be a good pair, up there for me with the classic Kristen Kreuk/Elisha Cuthbert pairing.

Owel, TV commentary:

On FNL, I thought with Tim back on the team, creepy ferret guy would be gone, but I forgot Tim still lives there. Why he didn't get out when he first found the meth lab, I don't know. I guess it took the guy waking him up with a rifle pointed at his face to finally get him out of there? But Coach giving him a sleeping bag, for where? To sleep in his truck in the Taylor's driveway? In their garage? Does he really want Tim in the same house as his hot wife and daughter?

Speaking of, I know he's trying to work Tim to teach him about responsibility, but is involving him in all these women's sports really a good idea?

The Jason storyline was hysterical. Reminds me of the HIMYM crazy/hot internet scale, and how you only meet crazy over the internet. Owel, its a good thing he found out about her waterworks fetish while they were still at the restaurant, and not at her place, where he would be trapped. But ha, he dumps that girl, but then bangs the waitress? spcv('Nice!')

The Matt/Carlotta thing is still ill advised, but again, what the frick is Matt doing getting advice from Smash? Didn't Smash only have one serious gf, and she was a nutcase who disappeared? Its like getting relationship advice from Riggins!

Ha, so Gus' parents are Claire Huxtable and Winston Zeddmore? Anyways, an amusing ep, particularly with Lassiter's insanity. And then his delusion that Juliet doesn't want him coming around anymore because she's jealous that her nephews like him better?

I think you're overstating Tim's pervyness. First of all, there's no way Tami or Julie would go for his shit, and he's not a rapist, so the coach doesn't have anything to worry about if Tim was in the house. Except maybe his sister-in-law.

And Matt's relationship advice problem goes back farther, he took all sorts of bad advice from Landry last year. I think they're just using it as a character thing... he lacks the confidence to decide that his ideas are better than other people's.

Well, I don't think he'd purposely try to get in either of their pants. But I think he can charm the ladies without actively trying- he kinda did that when he tried to get Tami to convince the Coach to let him back on the team.

Old Julie would think Tim is a jocko idiot, but I think under the right circumstances, being around him on a daily basis, I think new Julie could start feeling sorry for him and start seeing him as all misunderstood and he could get a sympathy bone out of it. Especially if Tami thought they were getting too close and forbade it.

Yep, two vols left. I think 26 is out in Jan and 27, who knows, probably 3-4 mos after that. I wish Viz hadn't've slowed down production on it so close to the end. You'd think it would behoove them to finish it on up.

Basara is so old now that no one cares about it anymore. And back when it was relatively new and popular, it was so long that it was somewhat of an undertaking to translate (and so, no one did translate it fully), which of course makes it difficult to put up a site mapping all of the characters and such. When scanlations became popular, Basara was already "old" stuff.

I still love the Basara anime to pieces, what there is of it anyway. I wish Viz had licensed the anime too, even if the manga's the only way to get the whole story. The anime has its own merits. I have the Japanese DVDs, but obviously they do not have english voice or subtitles. Maybe an eng-sub is available in torrent land. If you haven't watched the anime, you should give it a go, it's only 13 episodes. :D

Heh, you lent me the DVDs, remember? So I've seen it. It ends right at the point you find out Asagi is the real Blue King, but it does seem to also significantly deviate from the manga in how that all plays out. I'm trying to remember how far into the manga that is. Because it seems like there's a whole lot more that happens in the story. The Okinawa stuff, the prison, Sarasa temporarily "retiring" and trying to be a normal girl (where she first meets Kikune), that's all after, right?

Then again, it seems like the last few volumes or so actually only cover less than a week time period (heck, I want to say the last three or four take place on the same day!), its just so much happens since its the last battle.

That kinda sucks that its considered old. Surely there are fans out there willing to create an encyclopedia site about it.
