A sister!
So last night's Reaper (I totally did not recognize Sock's new step sister as that princess chick from Heroes whom Hiro and Takeo Kensei/Adam were fighting over. Who knew she had such a hot bod under the Kimono?), along with Adrian's ongoing storyline on Secret Life, and a snippet of something said about a character on this past ep of BSG inspired this post.
Okay, so on BSG, the wiki was talking about how if Chief and Boomer's fake daughter was real, she'd be Hera's half sister because Boomer and Athena are genetically identical. Ah'm skeptical! I mean, if identical twin sisters have daughters, their children aren't half-sisters. But identical twin is a far cry from exact clone, but still if you cloned some chick, and the original and the clone (or two clones) had children, I wouldn't say the children would be siblings. Along that sci fi line, if an alternate dimension version of your parents had a different kid, I wouldn't say you and that kid were siblings either. I mean, would you really think of alternate dimension versions of your parents as your parents? Not really. Thus, I don't think their alternate dimension spawn is your sibling. (And no, I'm not saying all this because I met the daughter of an parallel universe version of my parents and I'm trying to rationalize trying to nail her.)
As for Secret Life, with Adrian saying she's dating her brother, she's not dating her brother. I don't even think they're even really step siblings! Her situation, her dad knocked her mom up, and her mom raised her on her own. Her dad went and got married to some other chick who already had a son. I don't think that makes them step siblings since her dad only recently started acting as her dad and they're not living in the same household. So, totally not step-siblings. Okay, at the very least, I don't think them dating is "sick". Its ill-advised, but I don't think there's any moral issue there.
