I shot a werewolf once, but when I got there, it turned back into the neighbor's dog

Thursday night telly round-up:

Awesome ep of the OC tonight. What was up with the camera work though? Its done very strangely, almost documentary like with the suddenly focusing on conversations during key points and working their way around the rubble. It works though.

What's up with Ryan covering his injury up from the girls? I know he didn't want to worry Taylor, but he and Seth's attempt to surreptitiously get him to the hospital almost got him killed! I'm surprised Taylor wasn't a little mad when he was released from the hospital. Which I'm surprised they released him so quickly, didn't he have a huge piece of glass stuck in him and have massive blood loss? But their little trip did give them a chance to reference past plot points. Like all the people he's punched. And between Sadie and Lindsay? Come on, the answer is obviously Lindsay!

And ha on the ice cream kid totally lying about them being trapped so he could stay there with Kaitlin and Julie. That's one hot mother-daughter combo! And they're not half bad in their rendition of Night Moves. But it was totally obvious the girl he was referring to was her! So what dorky guy wouldn't attempt to keep a hottie and her hot mom with him as long as he could!

And what's up with action hero Taylor? Pretty cool of her, pushing Summer out of harm's way, then doing the action roll behind cover and popping up and firing the gun (even if it was just a flare gun. And what's Jimmy Cooper's flare gun doing in Dr. Robert's house?!) Between that and the chauffer disguise on Valentine's day and all the stalking and stockpiling odd survival gear, mebbe SD-6 should look her up at Berkley! And it was cool they gave her closure with her mother before the end of the show. Oh, and in Taylor's defense over accidentally shooting her mom in the foot, why wasn't Veronica calling out for Taylor instead of rummaging through the kitchen?!

I wasn't worried about Kirsten and the baby. They wouldn't cause her to lose it, the fans would be livid if they made them all happy, and then all of a sudden they make her lose it as some sort of near-finale stunt. But it was sad to see the Cohens+1 pull up to the house, all happy since it looked fine, but once they opened the door and went in the place was destroyed. Owel, they have a good excuse to leave Newport now. I had forgotten to mention about Spitz's awful newport wife from last weeks ep. Its like, c'mon, no one is that awful!

So tonight's ep of the Office was done by Joss Whedon? I enjoyed it, I thought it was a pretty good ep. I'm a big Jam fan, but it does get kinda annoying reading forums and seeing people think an ep sucks just because there's no Jim/Pam being all lovey-dovey. Its like first off, the Office is a comedy first, and the 'ships are just a bonus. And second, they can't just put them together! They want to milk the drama for all its worth.

Anyhoo, when Michael banished Ryan to the annex, did he do that purposely knowing how much Ryan would totally hate that? Jim's vampire prank was amusing, but I like how it shows that Karen's not nearly as good a joke partner as Pam was. With Jim and Pam, the dialogue flowed well enough that you think they are serious. But Karen, she says things a little too forced, making it a little too obvious its a joke.

Owel, poor Pam. The only people who showed were Roy, Oscar, and Michael. (and ha on Toby being pissed not being able to go because of his daughter's play or whatever) Jim not showing up. cliffV('What is up with that?!') And Roy was just kissing her ass, as apparently they're back together, and Oscar's boyfriend was being all bitchy critic. But Michael was kinda sweet. That's still one of the things I like about the show- even though he can be a huge, jerky idiot, he tries to be there for his employees and occasionally he'll actually do something extremely helpful. Which is prolly why Jim and Pam always seem to have his back when he's down as well.

Pretty funny ep of Supernatural tonight. Since it was a pretty light fluff ep, don't have much else to say. Except bitchy Sammy? Hilarious!

So on Smallville, there's a meteor freak who can detect other meteor freaks. And who's a meteor freak?! Chloe, apparently. It'll be interesting to see where they head with this.

Though, what's with the lack of consistency from week to week? The only real constant is everyone loves Lana. But last time, Lana's having to duck paparazzi and all that, now she can go hanging out with Chloe at the local bowling alley without getting bothered by the press or needing a security detail? And oh please, she missed they're girls night out? Since when did they ever do that? And who is who's best friend? For Chloe, half the time they say its Clark, the other half its Lana.

Oh, and some other show commentary:

Okay, it was obvious that that Metro cop was the other guy Jeanne was seeing. Well, the guide description was all, Tony working with a cop very similar to him, then when they were having the fight and him saying Jeanne's mystery ex seemed just like him? Though I'm trying to figure out if the cop guy knew Tony was the other guy. Its had to tell on TV what people can hear. Sometimes people are right next to each other and they can't hear a phone conversation the other one's having. And then other times people could be having a conversation half way across the room, and the pertinent characters somehow hear it while everyone else between them doesn't. Because if he had heard the conversation, I'd think it would be obvious. I mean, particularly the way they were pronouncing Jeanne, I'd think he'd be all, wait, he's not the new guy my Jeanne's been seeing? And then at the end, I'm sure she'd figure it out. I'd think Tony would come back sad that he say a frickin' guy he was working with get shot to death, and since its a cop, it'd be on the news, so she'd put two and two together pretty quickly!

I still don't know why it weirds me out to see Summer Glau not acting all River-crazy. But what's with her and Mack's new storyline on the Unit. I'm a little skeptical Mac would actually do that. And Crystal's turned from sweet, naive young girl to crazy stalker. I mean, I can sort of buy her being so distraught over her bf being burned on that one mission and wanting to do something to feel something other than that. But the threats about telling Kim and the other wives about it, playing housewife? Its all really weird and seems out of character, even if we haven't seen too much of her until recently)
