TV commentary:
House- I'm surprised that wasn't the season finale, it felt a little season finale-ish. Heh, I was worried they might go really crazy, and when Chase/13/13's prison friend were frantically speeding towards the hospital, and House/Cuddy/Rachel were also speeding there, that they would end up in a horrible crash!
Gossip Girl- Dammit, with last week's ep seeming like they've dropped the whole Dair thing and they'd both moved on, the season ends with more than a few Dair tidbits to keep suckers like me still watching. Thankfully, they resolve the whole Thorpe kidnapping Blair and getting ready to blow himself and her up rather quickly. Chuck rescues her, Raina sends her daddy to jail, and then Chuck and Blair crash a bar mitzvah and end up screwing.
Then when she goes to see Louis to ostensibly break it off, Chuck chimes in first and gives the couple his blessing. When Blair's all, "What the?!" he remarks about he only stayed at the Empire State Building last year for two minutes before running off to screw Jenny, but the Prince stayed at the party waiting for her all night. So, he tells her she deserves her happy ending with the Prince. Hey, its the first decent thing he's done for her the whole series.
As for Dan, during the whole Charlie debacle, Vanessa for some reason rummages through Dan's stuff and finds some scathing novel he wrote about the UES called "Inside". She insists he publish it, but he knows a lot of people will be hurt by it. So, it seems they end their friendship for good, and she steals the book and brings it to a publisher, with the proceeds going to her. Also, she's decided to move to Spain.
But Dair tidbit number one: Vanessa mentions there is someone in the book painted in a good light, and its not Serena. The implication is that its Blair? Meaning this whole time, he's always liked Blair as a person despite their differences.
Second tidbit, Blair spends the summer with the prince, but not before telling Dan she copied his Netflix queue and they can watch movies together over the phone whenever they're bored. So they're definitely still going on strong as friends.
Finally, Dan is in a funk, and Eric seems to know Dan is sad about Blair.
So, the groundwork is laid for them getting together next season. Though there's a mystery pregnancy test! Is it Blair's? She's the only one who recently screwed, so perhaps she and Chuck are having a baby because of that one night? But its odd that they put it in the shared bathroom with her and Serena, and since she's the only one who's been intimate as of late it doesn't seem like such of a cliffhanger!
Oh, and apparently Charlie isn't Charlie?! Carol hired a grifter to pretend to be her daughter so she could get access to her daughter's trust fund without actually risking her daughter getting sucked into the UES life. But Georgina knew "Charlie" was a fake, and gave her her number in case she ever comes back to the UES and stir up trouble. And fake-Charlie, or Ivy, might, as she kept a couple of the trust fund checkbooks from the batch she gave to Carol. I say might, but I heard she's a cast member next year, so I guess she'll show up again, though given she's not the real Charlie, I wonder how that's going to work.
Also, Georgina's boredom at the party and wanting to be part of some juicy scheme- that's someone who can't live without scheming. Not Blair. As I said before, the Chair fans always say that's why the two of them belong together, because of their love of scheming. But as I've stated, she does schemes to further her causes, because she's never quite satisfied that everything is right. Chuck on the other hand, revels in the chaos, just like Georgina. Now, I'm not proposing they should be a couple, just that Georgina is the kinda schemer similar to Chuck, not Blair.
HIMYM- Surprise one, Lily's pregnant. Sort of surprise two: the wedding where Ted meets the mother is Barney's. Ah, but is he marrying Robin or Nora? In trying to stop Ted from getting back together with Zoey, they wistfully remember their own relationship and kinda admit they did love each other. But then when they finally manage to stop Ted, they come to the realization they were a disaster, and getting back together would be a mess!
But then they bump into Nora, and she acquiesces to coffee with him. Robin is happy for him for all of two seconds before realizing she may want him back. So its possible since the wedding is sometime in the future, they get back together and end up getting married.
Chuck- Interesting, that could've served as a series finale, I wonder if they added the last few minutes once they were sure they were returning. Though I suppose they could've end the series with that also. Surprise, surprise, Chuck saves Sarah. However, in the process, he and the gang get fired from the CIA but some guy named Decker that even scares Casey, and he also loses the intersect.
Despite losing the intersect, he still managed to save Sarah by pleading with Vivian for the cure. She thinks its a trick at first, but Hartley (who also had the Volkoff personality removed by Decker) helps convince her, and Chuck finalizes the deal by giving them the fake identities Casey gave him to use for himself and Sarah to run away since they were on the outs with the CIA.
So, with Hartley and Vivian getting a second chance at a new life and to reconnect as father and daughter, they leave Volkoff industries to Chuck and Sarah, but I'm getting ahead of myself. Chuck saves Sarah, and they get married just fine, with Chuck getting Decker off his back by doing the whole, I have these files about the Agent X program and your involvement with it, so if something happens to me or my family it goes public thing.
Decker's fine with it, as he thinks they're civilians now anyways. But since the Bartowski's used that money to go freelance (particularly since Decker hinted there was more going on than they knew), they bought the Buy More and Castle and are gonna use it as their new HQ. Beckman actually leaves glasses that will give Chuck back the intersect, but its not clearly labeled as such. So Morgan picks up the sunglasses thinking they look cool, and now he's the intersect.
Are they saying Morgan has the same kinda special brain that allows him to become an intersect without his brain liquefying, or have they just conveniently forgotten that fact?
90210- Ivy and Raj get married, and Annie and Liam break up when he decides to not go to college and instead become a fisherman. But in the end, Annie decides she still loves him and that she'll wait for him. Wait, so are they (Annie and Liam, that is) not around for next season, given he's at sea and she's going to college in Pennsylvania?
Ade's deception is discovered and everyone hates her, and she almost ups the drama quotient by flinging herself off a cliff while they have fun below. Not that they notice her suicide attempt that was being goaded on by Javier-hallucination or ghost, or whatever the hell it was she saw. Instead, she actually decides she's being ridiculous and resolves to instead work at being a better person and hopefully get her friends back. So hopefully they'll make Ade likable again.
Finally, Naomi takes the fall for the cheating upon hearing Max could possibly get expelled. But during his Valedictorian speech, he fesses up it was all him. Unfortunately, his parents think she's a bad influence. So, they ship him off to summer school and that's he going to his original choice of MIT in the fall. Only, during the wedding, Naomi gets hurt during the bouquet toss, and while getting treated for that, she discovers she's preggers!
Man, those Clark women are fertile. I mean, Annie's dad knocked up Naomi's mom back in HS, Matthews knocks up Naomi's sister, and now Naomi and Max?!
Game of Thrones- Pretty violent episode. And disturbing at parts. Also, is this show trying to say everyone in power is a crazy whack job?!
So this ep introduces Loras Tyrell, "The Knight of Flowers". He seems pretty cool. I mean, the Hound and the Mountain are cool in their brutish bad-assedness, but I've also admired those warriors who are skilled but manage to be stylish as well. Such folk bring an elegance to the battlefield that is often lacking!
