I'll get you a satanic mechanic
Ah, now back to posting from the normal page. Anyways, got the Glee Rocky Horror soundtrack and have been listening to that. I've only seen RHPS twice, so I'm not that familiar with the music, but I'm enjoying the cast's renditions. But from some forums, it seems some RHPS fans are displeased with the changes. Like I love Mercedes' version of "Sweet Transvestite", its pretty rockin', but I guess some people don't like the fact that its done less campy? Well, that, and because Dr Frank-N-Furter is being played by a girl? Oh and changing "transsexual" to "sensational" in the lyrics.
Which is amusing, because the show can't seem to please everybody. I remember in the Britney ep, people were complaining about the songs being straight covers and they didn't try to inject some personalization into the Glee versions. So, if they stay true to the original songs, they'll get complaints from people saying its boring and plain, but when they put their own spins on things, they get complaints from other people who are all, "how dare you change it!"
Heh, another complaint I noticed that the Glee version of the Time Warp had the lines split up amongst more of the cast and people were all, "Why are they taking away lines from Kurt!?" And its not like its a song where its important that its done by one performer. But yeah, so they're complaining about that, but then on the other side, you have people complaining that not everyone is getting to sing. Of course, it seems like people have their own favorites in the cast, and they'll complain when they don't get enough songs.

The outright (stated in the opening song) goal of the RHPS is to parody B-movies with great mockings. Doing their songs less over-the-top takes away the whole meaning.
