OMG, this scene from the Degrassi Takes Manhattan movie. That is like the most hilariously awesome thing ever on this show, I can't believe they went there (even though the tag for Degrassi on the N was "it goes there!") I mean seriously, I know they've tackled some controversial issues (teen pregnancy, abortion, homosexuality, mental illness, drug use, school shootings and other deaths), but this?!!
So, Holly J and Fiona are apparently having problems "sharing" Declan. So what does Fiona do? Kiss Declan in front of a party full of people! The problem? Fiona and Declan are brother and sister! Not step-siblings, actual siblings, twins even. (Ha, they even refer to it as twincest!) I always knew there was something weird about those two, their interactions in the first ep they appeared did seem a little... odd.

But hey, Declan can't complain too much. I've always thought Fiona was pretty cute, even though she has a kinda big nose (I don't mind it!). Beth from Newsradio would say she was "striking". Holly J is cute too, I wouldn't fault him if he wanted to get a threesome with the two of them. HOTT!

So is incest, twincest, or both, considered more controversial than teen pregnancy, abortion et al?

Wouldn't it be? I mean, Jamie Lynn Spears getting knocked up, that was kinda controversial, and people were eventually, that stuff happens. If she decided to have an abortion, the pro-lifers would have flipped out and called her a murderer, but that's par for the course. I don't think the general public would bat an eye.

But if she had a twin brother (or someone more famous, I was just sticking with her as the example), and the paparazzi snapped photos of them making out, I think the general public would be "WTF?!!" I mean, I think as much as people may be against teen pregnancy or abortion, they at least accept it as something that happens. I don't think they'd ever be all, "Oh, overt incest, whatever" and be "cool" with famous siblings possibly being something more. I mean, isn't incest actually supposed to be illegal?

Incest is a state-by-state thing, and I think it's still mostly illegal in the USA, but most European countries I believe have repealed incest laws to where it's no longer illegal.

Heh, did they do that because of some pure-blood royalty thing?
