TV Commentary:
10 Things I Hate About You- Seriously, it me or is TV Cameron like a friggin' giant? I mean, it seems like they cover it up with camera angles for the most part, but that one scene in the locker room, Cameron was dwarfing Joey. So this ep starts right after Kat walks out of school and runs off with Patrick. Her excitement is short lived and she quickly goes into panic mode when she finds out that she gets a zero for any test she misses while she's suspended. So, she sneaks into school to take the test, but unfortunately smacks into the principal while on her way out. Her dad defends her and eventually gets the suspension lifted/the test allowed, but is disappointed when he finds out the "kid" she was sticking up for and caused her suspension is Patrick.
I'm a little annoyed that she didn't elaborate on the situation, but then I guess then there wouldn't be conflict. But seriously, its not just that she felt the searches were a violation of rights, but the frickin' security guard said aloud he was only confiscating stuff because the principal let him keep whatever he confiscated, which isn't right! She should focus on that, that would get her father on her side.
Cameron is still pissed off at Bianca, but not enough to not erase the tape implicating her. Still, he is being a bit assy, because its not like she's actively manipulating him. And she even sent Joey to try and get the AV keys in the locker room specifically so she wouldn't have to involve him. And its not her fault she doesn't think of him in that way. As I've said before, its interesting how different TV Joey and Cameron are. I mean, here, Joey is less jerk and more clueless idiot, so its hard to see him as the bad guy. And they haven't really built up any reason for Bianca to be interested in Cameron, so its hard to root for him, other than he's the underdog. But she does still value his opinion, because when he calls her on being a manipulative vixen for hiding the truth from Chastity, it causes her to confess despite the consequences.
Smallville- OMG, I was wondering why Clark was taking Lois to a bed and breakfast, given in past eps, the whole him trying to have sexual relations with mere earth girls was supposed to be a problem. But ha, they address it by saying the training he had been undergoing gave him more "control" so he doesn't have to worry about accidentally killing some chick. How is this show still on?! But looks like the cat is out of the bag with Chloe and Oliver, as Clark and Lois know they're dating now.
Vampire Diaries- Ah, so apparently Bonnie's grams messed up that final spell, because now all the vamps in the tomb are free. Pearl's been setting up a halfway house for them, trying to get them to keep a low profile to gather their strength. And apparently she's pretty bad-ass, being 400 years older than the Salvatores. (But since it seems Anna is her actual daughter, doesn't that mean she's just as powerful?) Her plan? Apparently, she sees the town as the vampires', and the humans stole it, so she basically bullies Damon into infiltrating the founder's council and find out who the members are and their families. Damon gets his eyes gouged out for his refusal (lucky for him vamps heal fast), so its looking like he's got no choice.
Despite her bad-assedness, some of the newly escaped vamps are not wanting to play nice. One in particular, Fredrick, along with Bethanne (the chick vamp who brought Harper back to Pearl's base last ep) go out in the town. He accidentally blows his cover by calling Elena Katherine. Then he tries to glamour Jenna, but lucky for her she has that secret Vervaine protection. Then, the two geniuses try to go after the Salvatores in their home. Stefan kills the shit out of Bethanne, and send Fredrick packing. He goes crawling back to Pearl, who stakes him (though not fatally) for his insolence. She's proving to be quite the matron mother.
I actually kinda feel bad for Anna, because despite her mother's grand designs, it sounds like she just wants to be a normal teenager. And she thinks she can find it with Jeremy. But he's suspicious she's a vamp, and basically cuts himself on purpose to get her to reveal herself. I think she was a little hurt that this boy she thought thought she was normal is some vampire fanboy. She tries to set him straight about vamps (heh, why doesn't she reveal how close he really is to the vampire world by telling him about his "sister" and the Salvatores and all that jazz?), but he drops the bomb that he wants her to turn him.
What else? Matt and Caroline and Elena and Stefan try double dating, and its a disaster. First, its all awkward with the constant reminiscing by Matt and Elena. Then they spy his mom and Jenna doing shots at the bar with Damon. So they go back to the Salvatore manse, and Matt and Caroline end up eventually working out there issues while taking a drive in Stefan's old car that he and Matt end up fixing up. But then they come back to find drunken Julie Cooper all over Damon. So, Matt takes his mom back home, and is all, he's supposed to be the kid, and how embarrassing it is to have his mom getting drunk and sleeping around.
In any case, this upcoming war between Pearl and her coven and the town is sure to be interesting.
