Last night hit Eclipse De Luna with the roomie and [livejournal.com profile] psyched_out and the little lady. (Ha, y'all haven't had a "where did Geebs eat" post in a while.) Anyways, not much to say, it was as good as the last time I was there (back in Feb for S's b-day) Had the salmon, jamon, chorizo, bistec, meatballs, cheese and lots of olives. Oh and taters. gv('What be taters?!') sgv('Po-tay-toes? Even you couldn't say no to that!') gv('Oh yes we coulds!') (I am such a geek!) The potatoes were good, I think they were served with a horseradish sauce. Strangely enough, the calamari (or was it some other sea food thing?) was served with the exact same seasoning. So food was good, and it was nice to S+S since we hadn't seen them in a while. Afterwards just caught up and shot the bull about this and that. Although S forgot to bring the pics from NY, again! Strangely enough, most of them have me in it. (Actually, not so strange, what better subject to show how cool their trip was?) Apparently, there's this one pic of me karaoking at [livejournal.com profile] 7500centfish and [livejournal.com profile] isabel79's parents house with the Last Supper tapestry thing in the background in such a way that it looks like the apostles are in awe of my awe-some singing.

A bulldozer just whizzed by thee window. Weird! Anyways, just watching some CMT before lunch. I dunno, these videos where its just footage from a concert (and not clipped from a televised performance) and a few backstage scenes just seem like a cop-out. Its not very imaginative. Then again, who said videos have to have a theme anyways? And who goes to Denny's anyways? Its like a crappier version of the IHOP! And they suck. The only time I went there, I asked for sweet tea, and they were all "sorry, we don't have any tea" and not five minutes later I saw them serving tea to peeps at another table.

And who goes to Denny's anyways?

I'm reminded of the FG episode where Peter and Lois go to Kiss-stock, and Lois fails to remember the words to the chorus of "Rock and Roll All Night" ("and have a wonderful time. No, wait... and something something all day?"). Embarassed, and angry that Lois lied to him about being a Kiss fan for years, Peter says "I am obligated to keep loving you, so I will take my rage out on my own body. Let's go to Denny's."

the apostles aren't in awe of you, they're recoiling back as if they're saying "Lord, please save us from this blasphemous rendition of an abba song!"

i hated denny's too until i went to a japanese denny's, which is just absurd...i'm too scared to go back to an american denny's, but i'm curious to see what the differences are--in yokohama you had a page of traditional japanese dinners, a page of imported american things like jambalaya and macaroni & cheese with shrimp (my pick) and things like that--of all things to have landed in their culture...

I was just reading an article about basketball scouts, and the author asks this scout for a Korean team if american players actually want to play in Seoul. He replied, "Yes. Like lots. See, Seoul big city. We have T.G.I Fridays. We have Outback. We have Wendy's." Things like that make me think geebs is what american culture really is about.
