I hate network problems. And if I was back in Ops instead of the CSC, I would prolly better know what exactly is going on. I tried checking on things myself, but everytime I would open a remote terminal to this machine or that, it would keep locking up on me or disconnecting within a few minutes. Very annoying. And no, I'm not complaining because its cutting into my websurfing time and I'm a huge internet addict. Its preventing me from doing work. But things are looking groovy now. I hope I didn't just jinx it.

Gah. We had a power outtage in the Galleria area. The entire Galleria apparently went down. Which includes my office! Tada. Got in this morning.. 15th and 16th floors were down! Spent all morning fixing it.

Its very annoying. Its like, not only can I not do work, but I also have nothing to do to kill the time until its fixed. Owel, thankfully we have some UPSs and a backup generator so we don't have to worry about taking a power hit too much, unless the power feeds are down for an extended amount of time. Then its gonna be a pain in the ass. Luckily, that hasn't happenned while I've worked here and I hope I never have to deal with it.

Oh man! Our UPS - the big huge one we have here - went out early last year. We have NO backup power in this building, save a few of those small tiny UPS's on the floors. *shakeshead* And no one wants to pay to have it fixed or replaced, so we're stuck. They call us ALL the time with "The power went out. Fix the stuff." It's MUCH more trouble than it's worth..

*sympathies for your aches!*

I'm glad they realize how essential one of those is here. Of course, the people in your building seem to be passing the buck on to youse, so they don't see how frustrating and inefficient it is to have to do all that stuff whenever there's an outage, the jerks!
