Watched the pilot for the upcoming Terminator: Sarah Connor chronicles. While it seems a few years late (I mean, T2 is practically 15 years ago, and its not like T3 re-ignited interest in the franchise), it has me intrigued. They definitely reference the 2nd film a lot, but I'm wondering if they're going to totally ignore T3. If they don't, it'll be definitely interesting to see how they reconcile it with their plot. Anyways, the show is about Sarah Connah (played by King Leonidas' wife), John Connor (played by Claire Bennet's best friend the mebbe or mebbe not gay Zach) and River Tam running from Terminators and the law. Of course, the pilot is going to be totally different from the actual premiere, because there were a few gunfights taking place in a high school, and my sources tell me they're re-filming those scenes in the wake of VT.

There are occurences in the plot that definitely have me curious where the series is going. Anyways, you find out pretty early on that Summer Glau's character is a good terminator. So she goes from playing crazies on Firefly and the 4400 to playing a soulless robot. And why did the other movies have them sending Arnold-type terminators when they could be sending cute high school girl looking terminators?! People would totally have their guard down around them. Plus, when they first come back from the future? spcv('Nice!')

Also, it sounds like they sent an engineer back to the past, even before John Connor's birth to build components for a anti-terminator gun and a time travel device, and placed it in a bank vault that River (with the Connahs in tow) robs to get to. So, River and the Connors destroy the Terminator hunting them and travel to the future in 2007 (the show starts out in 1999) Why? Because Skynet still gets built (again, it seems to be ignoring T3) and Sarah wants to destroy it. And apparently, to destroy it, they have to time travel ahead to 2007 for some reason, according to the River terminator. I'm not sure if the show will last, but I'll check it out, just to see where the story is going.

Owel, just have the Pushing Daisies and Californication pilots left to check out. hmm, I wonder if I could find the pilot for Gossip Girl somewhere?

And what's up with people lowering their defenses? Don't they know its unwise? Anyways, copied over my save file when I was at [livejournal.com profile] zarathrustra94 and [livejournal.com profile] turdburgler's yesterday, so now I can play God of War at home. The game looks amazing, particularly in progressive scan mode. Though looking through the walkthrough, I remember another reservation people had about the game- not enough boss fights and too many puzzles. Its still fun though.

Currently, I'm doing everything I can to maximize my red orb accrual. One trick is in the temple of the oracle. There's a hall with two holes in the wall that spawn harpies. You need to block those holes with statues. However, there are three blue or green boxes. Once you kill enough harpies, they stop giving red orbs. However, turning them to stone with medusa's gaze will always give you 30 if they're petrified and shatter when they fall (you only get 15 if you petrify them and shatter them yourself). So, keep killing harpies until they stop giving red orbs, then start medusa gazing them until you run out of magic, refill your meter with one of the blue chests, and repeat until you're out of blue chests, then cover the holes with the statues. I mean, you don't get a whole lot of red orbs, mebbe 1000 or so extra doing this, but every little bit helps!

I've noticed there are several hidden alcoves you can only see from certain angles, which takes a little bit of figuring out to get to. But I've been making sure I've been getting to those to get the orbs and gorgon eyes and phoenix feathers. And thankfully, I hear there are more gorgon eyes and phoenix feathers available than you need. I think I missed a few chests, but according to the faq you can still get the required feathers and eyes to max out your life and magic bars. Because you know nothing pisses me off more in a game than not being able to totally max my character out.

Maybe the reshoots on Sarah Connor will be a blessing, because I didn't find the pilot all that interesting. And they kinda uglied up Lena Headey, which sucks.

I haven't heard of anyone but insidery types seeing Gossip Girl, but I'm sure it'll leak sometime in the next month.
