Went to the eye doctor yesterday after work. Got a new pair of glasses. My right lens was fine but as I stated before my left was way off! Why? Apparently I have a cataract in my left eye, but it doesn't block my vision enough to warrant surgery. It is quite curious, since I'm young and not diabetic, but the doctor said he's seen cases in their teens, and there are cases where they just don't know what caused the cataract.

Speaking of glasses, I just noticed the cutie across the hall always wears glasses on Thursday, but the rest of the week she uses contacts. I don't wear contacts (and don't think I ever can the way my eyes auto-flinch so easy) so I don't know, but can you not wear contacts every day, like you have to give your eyes a day of rest or something?

And I've always wondered, if someone says, "How's it going?" and you say "Ah'm doing fine," are you supposed to ask how they're doing? I never ask back, is that rude or something?

And seriously, is Mr. Deeds on every day on HBO?! I cannot remember a day in the past week or so where I was flicking through the channels and it wasn't on. The why seeiing the OC the other day was kinda disconcerting, seeing Peter Gallagher as the good guy. He's like playing the total opposite character.

yeah, you do sometimes need to give your eyes a rest; this seems to be the case more with daily wears than disposables

if i wear contacts for a long time (12+ hours) or am up really late with them on, sometimes the next day i'll wear glasses

I generally don't have that problem. I didn't have it with my dailies or now, with my disposables.

If the contacts are new, then they tell you only to wear them for a few hours and then a few days, to build up the callous on your eyelid.

My prescription for glasses is very different from my contact prescription, so glasses tire my eyes out. It's possible she has the opposite problem. :)

(was lurking around other people's friends lists, hehe)

Ugh on the cataract. I went to the eye doc last month, and I've got a little one in my left eye too. Noticed that the vision in my left eye hadn't been quite so good lately, meh :/ (Albeit, I am diabetic, so...) I'm going to get my glass prescription updated so I don't have to wear my contacts so much.

Yeah, before I went to the doctor, I was thinking I had a smudge on my glasses or something in my eye. Owel, at least my left eye vision isn't as fuzzy anymore.
