TV commentary:
Glee- Wow, I don't think I've seen the fandom so divided about something that happened in an episode. I mean, I've seen gleeks be one character vs the other before, but it seems people are hugely pissed at Finn for what he did, while an equal number are "Whateva! Santana is just reaping what she sowed!" Still, such a sad and amazing storyline.
So Santana continues to be relentless with the insults, Mercedes tries to get her to cut it out, and with a little prodding by Brits, she says she'll apologize to Finn and the ND. Only its less an apology and more insults. So Finn has finally had it, and calls Santana out on being a lesbo in the middle of the hall. He doesn't think anything of it, because he figures the rest of the school suspects anyways. (which is pretty dumb of him to think that it wasn't a big deal, because didn't his own stepbrother flee the school because of the bullying? Granted, their school has gotten a little more progressive and we haven't seen any real anti-gay bullying this year, but still!)
And this ends up tying into Sue's over-the-top smear campaign against Burt. Since she's set the tone for the senatorial race to be full of mudslinging, one of her competitors has a daughter at Mckinley who overheard Finn's words to Santana. She told her dad, who basically uses that in a mudslinging ad against Sue where Santana is outed as a lesbian, and how that makes Sue anti-family values for promoting a lesbo to head cheerleader, and "oh, btw, Sue has no husband, so is she a lesbian too?" So now everyone is going to know Santana is a lesbian, including her family. Needless to say, she's rather upset.
But yeah, the various boards, people are at each others throats! Lot of Finn hate going on because he outed Santana, while others are saying, "That's bad, but it was an accident and/or the pizza sauce king and his daughter who should be to blame, and besides Santana was a huge bully who had a comeuppance coming!" So people are hating on those people for not hating on Finn and saying it makes them anti-gay. Just gonna stay out of that mess.
Other plots, Rachel makes up with Kurt by withdrawing from the presidential race. And Puck continues to pursue Shelby (they've only made out so far), and she's starting to warm to him, despite how wrong it is. At the very least, we find out its not strictly physical- like Quinn, he does harbor dreams of getting Beth back, which he thinks he can accomplish by making an insta-family with Shelby. He tells Shelby he's an adult, that he can be a husband/father and help her out. And he reveals Quinn's nefarious plan, so needless to say, Shelby's pissed, and won't let Quinn see Beth. That's not going to end well, particularly once Quinn inevitably finds out about Puck and Shelby.
Other cute stuff- Sugar in the background as Santana's slinging insults, she makes an amusing minion for Santana. Also, who are these random cheerios in the Troubletones?!
As for the performances:
"Hot For Teacher"- the song itself was nothing to write home about, a decent cover. But, the actual performance was pretty fun- its amusing to see Puck, Finn, Mike, and Blaine hanging together (and it was hilarious to see them, Brit and Santana be like Van Halen in the video). Seriously though, why the hell does Blaine never wear socks?!
"You and I/You and I"- Pretty nice duet between Schu and Shelby. I liked Shelby on the piano and Will on the guitar for this.
"Hit Me With Your Best Shot/One Way or Another"- Lots of hilarious things during the dodgeball match. Quinn is especially cute and dorky.
"You Make My Dreams/I Can't Go For That"- Okay, the cheesy mustaches were funny. I'm trying to remember, is this Finn's first song this season? But fine performances from everyone- Rory and Tina also figure prominently, and Quinn sounds positively angelic during her part.
"Rumor Has It/Someone Like You"- I already gushed about this song/performance, since it was leaked early. In any case, now we know why Santana looked so upset during this.
