An interesting ep. So,
mathslut are you cranky that they had Alex and Seth over so quickly and she's all into Marissa now (well, just really good friends for now, but its obvious where this is going)? I think you commented that you would be displeased if she just dumped Cohen for his ex next door neighbor. It wasn't even a long drawn out thing, its like they just dropped the whole A/S storyline altogether! I mean, Seth is all jealous and feeling like a 5th wheel hanging with R/L and S/Z goes over to Alex's. Who's busy on the phone with Marissa who're being all, "Oh, its been so fun hanging out every single day with you!" and then Cohen shows up, and Alex is all, "this isn't working" and just dumps him and Jodi. And that was all done like in the first five minutes! Kind of abrupt. Then again, maybe it will be an issue when they actually do hook up.
Speaking of Marissa, is she trying to prove that bitchiness runs in the family? She really is her mother's daughter. Cal can be a dick, especially after assuming Lindsay was just sniffing for money (what an asshole!), but man she was just downright rude! And what is up with that? Julie and Cal are supposed to be the big bads of Orange County, and Marissa just walks all over them all the time! And again with the deceptive promos! They made it look like Cal was walking into some sapphic romp, but it was just a tattoo! And what's up with him just barging into her room throughout the ep anyways!? Just walking into your step daughter's room when her mom isn't home? A little creepy. But honestly, this is the only storyline of Marissa's that has even seemed remotely interesting.
Getting back to Seth, I guess they're setting up an Seth-Summer reunion now, which I think is cool, of course. Though that means Zack will be on the outs. I know I said he's boring before, but that's just when he's with Summer. Zach, as the third amigo, I like. Ryan and Seth need someone else to hang out with besides the girls. I wouldn't mind them keeping him around when S/S get back together, but that might be kinda weird. But that comic idea was amusing. Brian Gatwood, with his fists of fury? Ha! The use of similar sounding names reminds me of DC though. Sam (girl's name shortened to a unisex name) and Petey for Joey and Pacey, I get. But how the hell do you get Colby from Dawson? First names that sound like last names?
Oh, moving back to Alex/Marissa real quick, what's with Marissa finding them in THE JEWELRY BOX NEXT TO JODY'S BED? I would think that should be the first place Alex would've looked!
Now, on to the rents. So they're gonna toss a monkeywrench into the Kandy? Though it is a little lame that they're coming up with this new character we never heard about that apparently Sandy was so in love with before he met Kirsten. Well, until she blew up a building and ran to canada!
Second time through re4, most of the weapon upgrades are really paying off. Like I said, the huge capacity on the Striker now is very useful for saving space, though I think the game compensates for it by not giving me as many shot shells from dead enemies. Which isn't a big deal, because I don't think the shotgun ammo I've had on hand has ever dipped below 75, and I'm already back up to 100+. But now I have too much rifle ammo! But the exclusive upgrade to the rifle has proven its worth to me. I just re-did the cover Ashley while she cranks mission, and I didn't even have to unequip the sniper rifle and switch weapons! Its like, zoom in, pop the guy trying to grab ashley, then zoom back out and just drop the guys charging towards me. It fires as fast as the pistol, and since its a one shot kill the enemies stay down and never overwhelm me.
I'm not sure if the TMP upgrade was that big a deal. I did kill the El Gigante's much quicker this time around. It only took two knifings as opposed to the original 3. The only time I got hurt fighting them was on "the other path". when I dropped the boulder too late and it ended up crashing behind him. But still, I had an abundance of flash grenades, so its like flash, shoot him with TMP, then jump up and slash the plagas and its all she wrote.
But
sparkyboy, you really need to upgrade to the black tail/riot gun/semi-auto rifle! The black tail especially, because it has a really good rate of fire. With it and the shotgun, there's no reason for the enemy to ever get close to you.
Sleeper, G.i.Joe, and the first two ishes of X-23. The X-23 origin is actually not too bad. But Cobra Commander getting back control of Cobra from Destro so easily? And wait, if the Night Raven the baroness was on got blowed up, does that mean Wraith is dead too? Sleeper's "Day in the life of Miss Misery" was interesting. Though if she has to go crazy like that before a big job every time, it seems like it would take a while. I still can't see how Holden isn't fucked though. I mean, he's just a pawn in TAO and Lynch's chess game. And it seems like no matter what he'll do, they'll just have on or the other be all, "I knew you were gonna do that, fortunately, that was part of my plan all along!"
