Dammit, forgot to set my alarm last night and overslept. Luckily I was having a weird dream that I woke up. And what a strange dream it was. Now I haven't seen the trailer for the new Ring 2, nor do I know what the original Ring 2 was about. Anyways, in my typical alternating between TV/Movies and "real life" that happens in my dream, I was seeing this trailer for Ring 2, but I think it was heavily influenced by the trailer for "Hide and Seek" with DeNiro and Dakota Fanning. There was a scene with some sheriff's deputies knocking at a door, and of lights going out, and of a spikey branch or broken pipe flying at someone. But it was taking place at CR. and then there was a scene with Naomi Watts' character driving her son and there's this girl in the backseet, and there's a voice over that expositions Samara got out of the well and is chasing them. And the girl is Samara in disguise, and she starts changing into the way she normally looks, so half her face is like this normal curly haired little girl, and the other has the really long hair and she very slowly starts crawling towards them over the front seat. And then it switches back to me, and apparently I'm in the movie, which perhaps already started. I'm packing my car to go to the airport. I thought I was going to get a ride, but the roomie took off for somewhere on some trip and everyone else was unavailable. So I head back in to do one last thing, and look at the computer in the living room and see someone else logged in. And this swedish or german guy with glasses comes out of the laundry room doing laundry. And then Pacer comes out of the kitchen. I don't know if they see me or not, but they don't acknowledge me. Anyways, they exposit that the roomie let them borrow the apartment while he was out and they were gonna have a poker game going. I head back to my car and there's all these college types hanging out there having fun and taking pictures of themselves with their camera phones. I put some stuff down next to my car and go to pull something out of the other side and this fat black guy who was kinda effeminate or maybe gay takes my camera phone and starts taking pictures of him and his friends. I'm all, what the hell, and then this group of girls walk into the parking lot, which has turned into a full on block party. They're all different, as in they don't look like the type of girls who'd hang out with each other, but they're all wearing these rings, and it turns out they have some sort of secret society going. I think it has something to do with them all being secretly lesbian, And I'm not sure if they're pretending not to know each other or just keeping the fact that they're all lesbian a secret, but Naomi Watt's character comes up and starts interviewing them. Apparently one of their friends died or disappeared the night before. And then it flashes back all cold case style to these girls walking around a baseball stadium, and ignoring some other girl who isn't part of their little secret lesbian club. But she's seeing one of the secret society girls and looking all sad, but I think the rest of the society made her not see her or something. But then the one in the society says screw it and goes to her girlfriend and they kiss. And then it flashes back to the present, and the society girl, who looked like your normal sorority girl type has turned all stereotypically lesbian, with the flannel and birkenstocks, and she shaved her head and she's talking to Naomi Watts now. I think it was her gf that was the one that disappeared. Anyways, I think she used to have an angband account because Naomi Watts asked her something and she said she never reads the message of the day and she donated money once. And then she goes on this pretentious sounding schpeel about how she after she posts stuff on LJ, she never goes back and reads it for some pseudo-intellectual sounding reason which I forget and that's the point I wake up, looking at my clock and seeing it is 637 and the alarm isn't set. Strange, eh?
Anyhoo, it looks like the student center does have Tekken 5. Righteous! Played Nina, Bryan, and Lee. Though I totally sucked with Lee. And either I really can't use a stick, or they changed some of the combos and commands around. Does Nina not have the blonde bomb anymore? And none of Lee's old combos seemed to work. I sucked it with Bryan at first also, until I remembered he had the orbital heel kick and that other flying kick (b,b+4) which I could use to close the distance better. I got my ass kicked by Hwoarang the first time I played Bryan, because I stupidly turtled waiting to get a chance to mach punch. Then, after another guy played Bryan, I remembered he had a lot of hard hitting combos and I should stick to those instead of just trying to mach punch all the time. And I did better, And pulled off his new meat-grinder throw. I don't know if I'd do better with a controller, which someone did bring and used. Maybe with Nina, cause I could pull off her juggles more consistently. And turtle better with Bryan since I could more consistently block and come out with a mach punch or those wolf combos. If those are still around! I didn't check. I'll have to look at the move lists and see what's still around. But alas, not today. I was gonna bring a controller today, but then rememebred we're having a meeting with ATS at 3, and today is laundry day, so I won't have time to hit the arcade today. Eh, maybe tomorrow.
