Owel, I tried making this post from the hiptop, but it always timed out when I tried to get to the update page. I coulda done a mail post, but nah, I decided to just mail it to myself and cut and paste:

Owel, just sitting here at Hartsfield. Flight got delayed a few hours. Eh, I got stuff to read and entertain...What in the world, I think some kid behind me is doing some mad libs version of the Gettysburg address! CliffV('what's up with that?!') But like I was saying, I had a bunch of stuff to read, my weekly comic batch from Oggsford and a magazine from the magazine stand here, but I already went through all those. But now I have a hiptop to fool around with and pass the time. Now you too can experience the joy of being stuck in the airport with me!

Reviews of the comix I got: Astonishing X-men #7 was interesting. Seemed a little short, but I still like Joss Whedon's take on the classic X-men characters. Though I'm curious if the writers of the different standard universe X-titles at least talk to each other and make sure everything fits. Because with Astonishing, Uncanny, and Academy, that's a lot of stuff going on. Its one thing to exist in the same world, but to have three different titles dealing with one school?

Sleeper #7 was cool. Though I have to think Holden is just screwed, doomed to forever be a pawn in Lynch and Tao's war. I guess one would like to think he'll come up with some clever gambit and escape (possibly even with Miss Misery) their clutches, but it just looks more and more doubtful. Maybe that' the point.

G.IJoe Reloaded #11 was a cool read. Its nice to see them expanding their cast, and their new mythos is pretty cool. Snake-Eyes and Storm Shadow being half brothers (and Stormy's yak look is pretty cool), Duke being a traitor, Beach getting more play, a female Doc, I like it. They brought Flint in now, but I had gotten the impression they were trying to do something between Beach and LJ. The Destro/Baroness/Duke triangle is also an interesting idear.

I'm also interested in seeing how this totally new arc on the normal Joe series will go. I like how they've referenced figures from other countries like Se Tin and Glenda as well as the cartoon homages. And it looks like they're culling the herd. They made Action Man actually be Tracker and killed him off real
quick, as they did Big Boa. And Hardball and Rampart don't look too long for this world.

What else today? Had lunch at the Vortex w/ the roomie and [livejournal.com profile] psyched_out. He tried a new Belgian beer, I a new burger. Tried the black n'spicy, it was rather bland, nothing special about the taste. S drove me to the airport after we went to Oxford, and he told me about Before Sunrise/Before Sunset. Even though I know what happens now, I think I might try to eventually see both. Alas, sitting here at the gate, I have not met some interesting person to start talking to and end up starting some real life version of the movies. Anyways, we also talked about how stacked English broads get on the way to the airport. (That cad!) Weirdly enough, there are a lot of English people around.

So that's what I tried to post. My flight was originally 730, but didn't get out until 11. But I did meet this cute girl and we had a wonderful six hours together (I got to the airport around 430!) but she had her flight and I had mine but rather than exchange phone numbers and addresses, we vowed to meet each other at the exact same terminal area this time next year. Okay, not really. Anyhoo, I'm rather pissed, because not only did was the flight delayed three fucking hours, they managed not to pack anyone on that flight's baggage. They better deliver that tomorrow, or I shall be very put out. Everyone's Christmas gifts were in there!
