So [livejournal.com profile] clevemire was telling me about this list he saw of the 50 most (over?)-used songs in TV and movies. And there were 2 he didn't recognize- "Fade Into You" by Mazzy Star and "Have a Little Faith in Me" by John Hiatt. Only, he couldn't remember the names when he was first telling me about it. But for "Fade Into You", he did mention a linked youtube video of scenes that used the song. One of which was Rory and Dean at a dance. Which, I accidentally first guessed the Sundays' cover of "Wild Horses", but thats the song Buffy and Angel danced to at prom. Then I remembered it was actually that Mazzy Star song. He had to look up later what the "piano"-y song was, which was "Have A Little Faith in Me".

Which I also did know as well from one of my ghey-ass shows, Dawson's Creek. To me, its the song playing in the series finale when Pacey kissed Joey at Dawson's moms second wedding, to make it clear to Virginia Madsen that it was over between them. But, since most of the songs in that ep where iconic songs from throughout the series, it was also used for some Dawson-Joey kiss way back in season two. But given I'm a PJ-shipper all the way, I choose to associate it with that scene.

TV commentary:

The Originals- Heh, Hayley and Rebekah finally meet, and weird, I guess it is the first time Phoebe Tonkin and Claire Holt had a scene together after all this time playing characters in this universe. Which is amusing because they were both on H2O in Australia when they were younger, so I figured they would meet and have some sort of clever nod back in last season of The Vampire Diaries. But nope, its not until now that they have a scene. spoiler cut )

TV commentary:

NCIS- Did they really just have an ep where they're trying to track down a plane, so they ask Abby to have her friend in a "really popular band that just hit a million followers" to send out a tweet with a pic of the plane and requesting their fans who see it to tweet that they saw it with the hashtag "#findthisplane"? Well, at least that's how it would work, they monitor twitter for the hashtag and pretty much immediately know who's tweeting it and from where. I suppose that's better than made up computer mumbo jumbo. Also, given the public-ness of this plan, wouldn't the media be in an uproar later, given they knew about a potential terrorist threat and didn't warn the public, instead telling them through a proxie to be on the lookout for this random plane?

Of course, they didn't really need that plan, since it was obvious who the guy's target was. Its all, "Oh, he feels persecuted!" so they think he may go after his old HS or the academy where he washed out for flight training. And its not until the tweeting that Gibbs realizes he's after that one fellow female cadet, even though when he interviewed her, she outright said, "Oh, he always had a problem with me, he couldn't stomach the fact that a girl got to fly F-18s when he couldn't!" The guy kept calling her for days beforehand, its like, gee, maybe she's the target?!

I'm a little skeptical though about how that went down. I know they were wanting to give the trouble young man a chance and try to save his life before carrying out his attack, but BS! If he was flying on a course to kamikaze an aircraft carrier with a plane full of C4, I would think the F-18s and phalanx systems on the carrier, all of whom had him locked, would've just blown him out of the sky rather than risk him blowing the carrier up, even if he was still far out. And then when they did manage to dissuade him they were all, "Oh, we'll direct you to a field where you can safely land!" Bull, he had a small plane full of c4, they couldn't risk him getting near a civilian area and blowing himself up. But I suppose they did have him in sight, I guess they would've guided him on a harmless path and shot him down if he deviated. But, the guy blew himself up before we saw if that's what would've happened.

Heh, so they also brought in Roma Maffia as Franks' old partner, just in to ride out the rest of her days until retirement in a month. It was funny when they needed her to go out in the field, she was very hesitant of going with DiNozzo, calling him a jinx and then listing the incident with the plague, and the car bomb, and almost getting sniped in the season premiere. Ha, I guess he would be infamous after all those near misses with death. But she gets injured, allowing her to retire early. I assume she'll be back, given they wouldn't hire her for a bit role like that, particularly if they make her out to be Franks previous partner and she knows Gibbs from when he was younger.

TV commentary:

Arrow- Ha, when Felicity said she improved the lair, I had a feeling she kept that bar thingie Ollie uses to do the pull ups. I mean, she has an obvious crush on him. I didn't expect her to be so bold and say she did keep it for that exact reason. Is it me, or do they have way more chemistry that Ollie has with Laurel? spoiler cut )
