Aug. 22nd, 2011 09:39 amYeah, this is a few months old, but since I hadn't seen it yet, its new to me, Where's WALL-E, from Hopewell Studios:

That's a pretty comprehensive group of robots! I mean, random robots from lesser known 80s cartoons like M.A.S.K. and C.O.P.S., British sci-fi shows and sitcoms, etc. I mean, if I thought of a robot, it was there. Though the characters they chose for the Gobots and Transformers were Scooter and Wheelie, really?! Could they have picked ones less annoying? Though I guess they were both small, so scale wise they'd be appropriate.
TV commentary:
Glee- So I haven't been watching the Glee project, but I've been keeping up with the how the contest has been going since the winner will eventually be on Glee. Now, I didn't think it was too crazy for them to hold a reality contest for a guest spot on Glee. Because to pick the final 12 for the actual show, they seemed to use the same process to pick the original cast members, who let's not forget were all basically relative unknowns (at least in the television world). Indeed, one of the final four Samuel, was someone who tried out originally and they liked but didn't have a place for. So basically, they did the same thing they did to pick the originals, picking 12, and then just holding a contest to whittle those down.
In any case, I'm not surprised Samuel made it to the final four- he had a unique look, and knowing that he could've been in the original cast made me think even more he'd go far. Same for Alex- while he does seem like the love child of Mercedes and Kurt, again, he's got a unique look, so I'm not surprised he made it that far.
Given that I didn't watch the show, all my judgements on the characters were based on that original Firework video the contestants did, so like I said, those were the two I pegged as possibly winning. As for the other final four Damian and Lindsay, they didn't stand out to me too much. I couldn't know Damian was Irish from the video, but had I known I would've expected him to go that far. As for Lindsay, I actually pegged Ellis as Rachel Jr (though now that I know more, she seems to be closer to Tina), but apparently Lindsay is very much a real life Rachel.
So going into the final four, I wasn't sure who would win. I was going less by their singing ability as from the various music videos they've had (the Ice Ice Baby/Under Pressure mashup being my fav), they've all sounded fine. I was thinking more where they would fit, and as I said the boys seemed different enough from the main cast that there was a place, while Lindsay might make a good foil for Rachel being the mini-her.
So who did end up winning? See for yourself. ( Or look under this cut )
Eh, contests like this are like the music reality contests, where the actual winner is inconsequential. Winning gets you the guaranteed contract, but just the exposure is good enough. How many of the American Idol non-winners still hit it big after the show? So I'm not surprised with the results. Frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if they threw in some of the other contestants as well. Like Marissa. (Whom I pegged as Quinn Jr because she was white, and Emily as Santana Jr because she was hispanic, but it sounds like Marissa was more Santana than Quinn) After RM re-watched the ep she was eliminated, he thought they were hasty in letting her go. So I wouldn't be surprised if she or one of the others also showed up on the show.
