Aug. 7th, 2008 07:50 amSaw Pineapple Express last night with the roomie and
clevemire. It was pretty hilarious. And surprisingly violent! I did think they slightly frumped up hottie Amber Heard (whom you may recognize from the CW's short lived Hidden Palms or that silly "Karate Kid meets Fast and the Furious" for the oughts movie, "Never Back Down" with Volchok and that LAWKI guy. Not to be confused with Olympian Amanda Beard) a little in her first scene, but the rest of the movie she was back to her normal level of hotness. And what's with commercials showing scenes that weren't actually in the movie?
Owel, as I was getting my ticket, I was perturbed when I heard some people saying some movie was already sold out. I was worried, because Pineapple Express was the only new movie coming out that day. But it wasn't the sold out movie. Were they referring to Dark Knight? Seriously, I liked the movie, but how is it still selling out?!
Some Avatar talk: ( behind the cut )
Speaking of Avatar, and Katara and Zuko, I knew she was voiced by Egg, but I didn't realize he was Rufio. Who was of course the guy who played the main character in that "The Debut" movie my family wanted to watch because it was all about Filipino culture in an American society or something. Oh, and I had mentioned Azula sounding a little like a more sinister Paris from Gilmore Girls, but I forgot I recently learned that Ty Lee was voiced by the Tana chick who was Paris and Rory's roommate their freshman year at Yale. Its kinda a thin connection!
Anyways, saw this list of The 50 sexiest videos of all time. It has Fiona Apple's Criminal (which I think is my pic for the sexiest video ever, but they only have it at #23) on there, so the list makes some sense. But some of the choices are kinda baffling. "No Sleep 'til Brooklyn"? "Take on Me"? "Dancing in the Dark"?! They have Robert Palmer's "Addicted to Love" as #1. I have a confession to make. While people claim its sexy, I never really thought so. I mean people claim those chicks are so hot, but that overly made up look doesn't do it for me. Shania Twain's homage (or was it a parody?) to it, her vid for "Man, I Feel Like a Woman" was way sexier. Because of her, not because she switched the chyx out for guys.
I'm also confused that they chose Aerosmith's "Cryin" over "Crazy". Crazy not only had Alicia Silverstone, but Liv Tyler, back when they both were pretty hot. And it has schoolgirl outfits and faux lesbianism! They argue that they felt Crazy was a rip off, as if they were trying to limit it to only one Aerosmith song on the list, but they already had "Sweet Emotion" on the list as well. And they had two Chris Isaak songs and two Shakira songs on the list and if the argument was that Crazy and Cryin' were too similar what about those two peformers? Both Chris Isaak videos are just some supermodel (Helena Christiansen in "Wicked Game" and Laetitia Casta in "Baby Did a Bad Bad Thing") rolling around being sexy, and the Shakira videos are all about her gyrating! Not that they don't deserve to be on the list, but if you have repeats like that, surely they could've knocked off one of their nonsensical choices for Crazy.
