TV commentary:

Legacies- Awesome ep, this show keeps getting better every week! So we finally know why Caroline is not around. And it really is important- like I was thinking, would she really miss the twins birthday? But for this she would! So Caroline is apparently tracking down a lead so the girls don't have to merge on their 22nd birthday. Which they are apparently unaware of and are being kept in the dark.

Of course, I'm not sure why the merging ritual is still a thing. Like I think the writers have forgotten the lore over the years. The reason twins had to merge was because the coven was tied together, and if the leader died before a successor was picked, they would all die. But Lizzie and Jo are the only two Gemini left, so what does it matter? I mean, I guess if one of them died, then the other one would too, but that's better than forcing one to consume the other.

Anyways, Jo's back, thanks to a necromancer who's the next creature to make a play for the dagger. She is definitely her, only at time the necromancer can exert control once she has people's guards down. So due to Josie's curiosity and woes in this ep, she's hanging out with her mom when Jo loses control and Josie ends up buried alive.

Dorian shows some sense and he and Emma flee with the dagger because he suspected Jo was not to be trusted and didn't want Alaric to compromise himself. Needless to say, Alaric is desperate, but Dorian says they'll save Josie without it. And he's right, Josie is saved by Hope, Penelope, and MG. Hope apparently gave Josie a necklace that "allows quiet things to be heard". Which is an insightful and thoughtful gift. But yeah, it lets MG hear her and they're able to dig her out whilst fighting off zombies.

But getting back to that necklace. One, heh, that's kinda hilarious and extra that she got Josie a gift and not Lizzie. Two, this is a very incestuous group. Like there's something shippable there with her and Josie. But obviously Posie have tremendous chemistry. Like Penelope's playing her usual games, but once Hope mentions Josie's in trouble, Penelope is rushing to save her girl. And look at her, pulling the Han Solo!

She kisses Josie after all this to show she still cares, despite everything that's happened. And Josie is all, "I hate you!" (but not really) and Penelope does the "I know!" thing. Smooth.

But yeah, at the same time, it seems like Hope and the twins all like Raf, but Hope obviously also likes Landon. And then you have MG liking Lizzie. So I don't know what shape it is, but there's definitely a crazy love whatever going on between all these kids.

And heh, oh yeah, Penelope is so evil! Trapping Hope and Raf long enough so he can't escort Lizzie and MG can save the day. Like she says she wants to burn Lizzie's world down, but really it seems like she's just trying to take her down a peg while trying to hook MG up in the hopes that once Lizzie has someone, Josie will be free.

Lizzie though, she can be so frustrating. On the one time, she's a cute dork who deserves the world. Like she's a sweet girl at heart, she can just get so obsessed with being cool and popular. So much so that she kinda misses what Josie does for her and she never gives her sister a chance to shine. Like seriously, she didn't notice Josie wasn't there for most of the party, only when she needed a shoulder to cry on when Raf said nothing was gonna happen between them even though they had sex the night before.

And its doubly rude because MG escorts her when Raf isn't there, he shows her a good time and shows that he knows her so well. And they seem to be hitting it off, until Raf shows up and she tosses him aside like he's nothing. So yeah, Lizzie can make it so hard to be on her side.

Owel, in the end, Jo needs her daughters to siphon her, so the magic that brought her back will be gone and she can be put to rest. So Alaric has to see her die all over again, and the twins have to lose the mother they just met. But Jo assures them its fine. Because she was starting to remember more from the other side, and how she was always watching them. So she tells them she'll see them again soon. (Its funny how both this show and Supernatural had a scene like this tonight)

Oh, and the end seemed very buffy-ish, with the necromancer showing up and trying to scare Alaric and Dorian, and them being unimpressed and Alaric just straight up knocking him out with a shovel.
