clevemire this afternoon. I enjoyed it, it definitely earns that R rating, between all the F-bombs being dropped (kinda weird hearing Charles curse) and the ultra violence. I mean, seriously! I mean, not surprising coming from Wolvie and X-23. But even random plant controller girl basically makes a guy explode in a fountain of gore! The random kids use their powers in violent ways (well, they were raised as assassins), so this is definitely not like the X-men.
Since I had been playing Mortal Kombat X a bunch this week, the movie definitely evoked memories of the brutalities and fatalities in the game. Which speaking of, I like that the brutalities in this one are easier to perform (or at least some of them are). Before you had to follow weird requirements, and sometimes you still do. But some just involve holding a certain direction or button while doing the specific move that defeats them. Like Mileena, who just needs to hold up while dealing a final hit with her teleport drop kick.
