Crazy Ex-Girlfriend- Aw, some nice moments this ep. But first we have to endure Rebecca driving herself crazy trying to get the wedding done in time, and pretending she's not hurt that her mother is not helpful at all and her father claims he can't make it, even though she's used to it.
I like how she's been trying to make sure things are cool between her and Valencia. Valencia admits to Heather that she really is over Josh. Its just she was with him for so long, had all her plans tied to him, that now she's out of her depth and doesn't know what to do with her life.
Eventually, she and Heather back to the apartment to see Rebecca has basically given up, and Valencia decides to be Rebecca's wedding planner. She may not be marrying Josh, but at least she gets to use her wedding plans for someone. And I think it was as much for herself as it was Rebecca, since its something familiar, something that gives her back some semblance of meaning again.
Of course, its prolly not the best idea for Rebecca and Josh's relationship, since Josh broke up with Valencia because he felt he was just a passenger in his own life, Valencia being in the driver's seat. So he's back to be under a controlling influence, even if its Valencia doing it for Rebecca. The seeds of doubt are being sown though, by both Father Brah and random new girl whom he had been confiding him. There was one thing he really wanted for the wedding, and the girl told him he needs to do it, its the only way it will feel like his wedding.
So he does (I guess its wearing a particular suit), but Valencia immediately nixes it. Still, he does seem to like the webpage for the wedding she made, so its not like he's that frustrated yet. Who is frustrated? Trent, who vows this wedding is happening over his dead body! But I thought he had found someone else?
Anyways, things aren't so great for Nathaniel either. The kiss with Rebecca in the elevator has him shook, and he goes through a cleanse that makes him sick. After some gross moments, the staff tells him he needs to rest. Its clear his father messed him up, because resting is weakness, you should just power through sickness. Daryl finally gets him to nap, which of course is when Nate's dad shows up and is very disappointed at finding his son asleep. (and his office stinking of shit)
Nathaniel does start to come to the realization that his father is unreasonable and he'll never be able to please him. So when he can tell Rebecca is incredibly disappointed her father is not coming even though that's what she expected, he sends his private jet to get her dad from Alaska. So looks like her dad's back in her life.
And lest you think its just Valencia and Nathaniel who help Rebecca out, Paula secretly browbeats Rebecca's mom into not being a self-centered asshole and to pick a beautiful and expensive dress to overnight to Rebecca. So things do seem up for Rebecca, even though Nathaniel's crush, Trent's stalkerness, and Josh's doubts will prolly throw a wrench in things.
